Did anyone honestly expect us to win today? I was expecting a draw but certainly not a loss. What has happened to this club? where is the fighting spirit? where is the passing game that we have been known and admired for over the years? Why cant this lot just roll up their sleeves and get on with it? look at Wigan and Reading for chrissakes!! even Newcastle managed a point.

Don''t see why Delia or the board deserve any blame. The business side of things has been run impecably since the League 1 season. In hindsight Hughton has been a mistake but they weren''t to know he''d be this dire.

It''s more a lack of quality than fighting spirit imo - there was plenty of effort there today but our passing in the final third was woeful. We don''t have players of the quality of Agbonlahor and Benteke in ourforward line sadly. Didn''t think we deserved to lose the game but even though we had a reasonable amount of the ball they always looked more dangerous when they attacked.

the Board are not to blame. They have had to pay off the external debt by October this year as the consequence of renegotiating the debt when we were in League One. Had they not taken the appropriate steps to honour this agreement we would have no reputation with future creditors. Furthermore they did make significant money available for a striker in January but for what ever reasons a deal could not be done.

Whilst our defensive record definitely needed improving it has only improved by 10 goals with 2 games to go, one of which is a potential thrashing at the Etihad but at the expense of 18 less goals. Being able to score goals is much more important than keeping clean sheets in terms of survival.

next week is Cup Final weekend and we have one at Carrow Road. Let''s hope WBA are on the beach as this one is must win for us.

But Crafty, we failed to strengthen our striking options in the Summer, on in January when we had money. Some of us advocated overpaying for a striker as a form of insurance premium to get quality into the club. Whether this was poor negotiation by the board, or a lack of targets identified by Hughton, I suspect we shall have to wait for the memoirs. But it increasingly looks like a very expensive mistake.
