Canary & Linnet 0 Posted June 8, 2005 In relation to Helveg possibly buying out his contract & Peter''s calculations as to what his weekly salary is, the following web site gives an indication about how prudently our club is run http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4071136.stmFrom my crude maths the average Premiership salary is £26k a week (based on 30 man squads per club), Championship, as I''m forced to call it, works out at £3.5k.I can''t help but think there are a lot of clubs still who are riding for a fall. IMO West Ham would have been in serious trouble had they not gone up thru the playoffs & will they learn any lessons from previous years?Although I know I will incur the wrath of the Wizard, but I would like to praise our board for actually operating our club in a sound financial way, Mr Chase is hopefully a dim & distant memory.By the way my surname is not Doncaster!
