Preston Want Declan Rudd Back

Recommended Posts

Preston boss Simon Grayson is keen to bring Declan Rudd back to Deepdale on loan next season.

The England Under-21 goalkeeper is now back at Norwich and attempts will be made during the close season to strike a deal with the Canaries for another spell with the League One club.

Talks are not likely to get under way until Norwich''s season ends on May 19, with the East Anglians currently fighting to preserve their Premier League status.

"We are keen on bringing Declan back," Grayson told the Lancashire Evening Post. "He''s under contract at Norwich so we''ll see where we go with that one.

"We''ve offered Thorsten Stuckmann a new deal and Declan is something we''d like to do so that we have two very good goalkeepers here.

"Agreeing a deal with Norwich for Declan is something much further down the line. Norwich''s season still has a couple of weeks to go and we have to respect that."

If the reports from PNE fans and now their manager are anything to go by, Rudd is already better than playing at that level, and we should be focusing on getting him a loan to a Championship club before we entertain any possible return to PNE for him.

Agreed Indy. Though as long as he gets another loan and a full season of games I''ll be very happy. This is just the chance to progress that he needs. Every division he goes up will be better for him and us. More accurate strikers, more powerful shots, less time to react etc
