Why Was Hughton Sacked?

Recommended Posts

All I can find is that Newcastle ''wanted an individual with more managerial experience to take the club forward''.His Premier League record with Newcastle wasn''t stunning (I think he''d had previous spells as caretaker manager) but he wasn''t doing too badly at the point of him being sacked in December.  I believe Newcastle''s season at that point was very similar to where we were at in December. Could Newcastle see something in the first half of that season that lead them to believe that was as good as it was going to get for them with Hughton in charge?  If so, what?

[/quote]It had much more to do with the fact that the car crash that is Newcastle United decided in their infinite wisdom that they would be better off with the Messiah, otherwise known as Alan Pardew - in himself an accident waiting to happen! And it had nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that Pardew and Newcastle CEO Llambias are long-standing bosom buddies, nothing at all.........why did Pardew get an 8-year contract?

I can''t help wondering what the Newcastle version of the pink un will be like if Hughton keeps us up and Pardew takes them down.

Any exTooners about on here who have an idea?

yeh because pardew did a terrible job guiding them to 5th in the league last season

reason theyve done so bad this year is because of injurys and lacking squad depth to compete in europe/both domestic cups/and the league

like him or not the bloke did a brilliant job last season

They wanted some one with more ambition and didnt feel that CH was the right man to take them to the next level.I agree with it. I dont think he is the man to take a team to a higher level. He is a stabilizer and nothing more.He got them promoted but they didnt lose any (or many) of their prem squad, so you could argue that a lot of managers would have achieved that feat.Pardew arguably did take them to another level with a european finish. The Europa Lge run has ironically affected them this season. Thin squad.

I once travelled down to Carra many years ago with some ''Geordie'' work colleagues to watch a game......You picked up on that on the ''now defunct'' Official Club message board many years ago - and have continued to incorrectly purport that I was or am a ''Geordie/Newcastle fan.....It''s getting a bit tiresome now, and I can''t really be ar$ed to get drawn into the infantile point-scoring that usually alluded to these pathetic spats they used to generate into. It used to humour me, but I think it''s all gone a bite stale now.....Arguing on a message board with an unwavering indigenous ''set in his ways'' Norfolk bloke, who''s in his mid to late fifties, isn''t really conducive to creating some kind of harmony between ''outsiders'' and ''insiders''.....

But, as it suits your rather futile and pathetic agenda, in a continual attempt to discredit me as a season ticket holder and a long serving supporter of NCFC.Who''s stood on the terracing of the Barclay, sat on the bank with a Bovril - and ran to the Kingsway to see the goals on the telly after fulltime....etc....etc....Keep repeating stuff till folk believe it''s true - and attempt to discredit an individual, is the frequent weapon you utilise on this forum. I''ll just have to accept it. I certainly wasn''t born in Norfolk, but have chosen to settle here after travelling and living around many areas of the country......Am I allowed to venture into the City to shop, socialise and work? Or, will I be ostracised for having a Yorkshire accent and chased up Prince of Wales road by a baying mob of pitchfork wielding yokels to the railway station and told "Furriner! Get orfa moi laarnd!"

If it satisfies your personal xenophobia to us ''furriners'' I''ll just have to tolerate it and let it continue. The fact I''ve lived and worked in Norfolk for well over a quarter of a century, married a local girl - and that my kinder were born here, probably doesn''t satisfy the requirements of ever being accepted here, by the likes of you and your ilk......''Pet''....so'' "HADAWAY AN'' $HITE!"

I don''t think so Vinny. It''s just words from the tired old messageboard clown who would like to reinvent himself as the voice of reason. He mercilessly persued me for months on here christening me "nutless" and posting ridiculous pictures. But I always gave it back and thought there was a bit of mutual respect.

Oh and by the way Geordie Boy, I never ever posted on the club''s messageboard. Just this one.

Strange that?.....I only ever mentioned on the ''now defunct offy message board'' that I first travelled to Carra with some Geordie mates....?

"AWWW POOR DIDDUMS!" I see you''re pulling your usual trick out of the bag and making out to be ''the poor victim''..... As well as once again attempting to discredit me. People are getting the measure of you, you twist and turn to suit your own agenda....I''m pretty sure I''m not the only one who''s noticed or is aware of it....I Mercilessly ''PURSUED'' you? Oh, the voice of  poor old Eddie.....Bit dramatic, are you after an equity or sympathy card?

Tired old clown eh.....Geordie boy.....etc....etc. See, you just can''t help yourself......So very sad.....

Hey Mello - again! Why not join me to meet these weird geezers at Hotel Nelson if we survive. As Morty has said, always good to meet those from behind the screen. You never know, we might be good old boys together :-(

How strange but my dear old Dad was a geordie and I have followed the Toon all my life but I''m an old Norfolk bor. Played for Gorleston and schooled in Yarmouth.

Nevermind Parochial Nuts still has to be offensive with his stupid anti Suffolk stuff but it will be good fun to meet these old Nelsonians Why I''m even an ex copper. That should interest another of the fold. ''Call PcTilly ''This, your evidence, is my worships''

My rod is out. Let''s see who we catch this time. Mmmmm I wonder

I got quite excited when I read that headline. Unfortunately it was discussing an incident three years ago.Perhaps we should also ask: Why was Hughton given a job at Birmingham and Norwich. He''s currently 3:1 in the job offers to sackings ratio. Which isn''t bad.

Nice one Nuts. Your so good you say it twice.

You will have a choice if you drink with me or not. If we survive I have already said I will try and meet up with Morty and thought you too would like to have a celebration drink.

I worry that the ''hail fellow well met'' persona you have tried to portray over the years is collapsing.

Chill out buddy!!
