Olsen says..

Recommended Posts

Denmark boss Morten Olsen has blasted the standard of Championship football as he urged Thomas Helveg to quit Norwich.

Helveg has said that he will stay with The Canaries despite their relegation from The Premiership, although he is being widely tipped for a summer move.

Olsen believes that Helveg should leave Carrow Road for the good of the national side, as he described the Championship as ''second-grade'' football.

"From the national team''s point of view it is not very good that he is playing in a league where they practice kick-and-rush football," said Olsen.

"That is a world away from how we want to play.

"Thomas is a class defender who is far too good a player to play for a club like Norwich - a club that belongs in a second-grade league."
