I have a ticket right in the heart of the North Bank on Saturday. If we score, should I keep quiet or celebrate in the time honoured fashion and suffer the consequences?has anyone been in a similar position and what have you done?

I have sat in the away end a few times. Most notable being Ipswich 1 Norwich 5 at Portman Road. I didn''t celebrate any of the goals. You are in their section so you should show a bit of respect for me. Just my two cents.

I was in home section at Everton this year. When Seb scored that late equaliser I couldn''t really contained myself, but instead of jumping up, I grabbed the boy, jumped down, pretended to tie my laces and we had a private cheer together! luckily the noise from the disgruntled everton fans masked most of this!!

I watched West Ham vs City this season in a similar fashion with my 11 yo son. I bought a matchday scarf, and let the City half show more, but other than that I kept it low. Not so much because of safety concerns, (the WH crowd seemed rather peaceful and un-hostile towards City, btw. before and after the game the two crowds mixed rather peacefully) but rather because I did not want to risk to be escorted out by some of the staff from a home sector. Initially it felt a bit odd, but eventually I got the hang of saying things like "Oh my", or "now come on", etc, which can be interpreted in many ways.

The best thing is just to bask in that inner glow of satisfaction. It is not worth risking it generally as you don''t know who will take offence. Of course if we are 5-0 down and we score then it might be different and a bit of ironic celebration might be quite funny.

I go the Emirates about 5 times a season as I work with a season ticket holder so go for free. I see people getting thrown out every game for being in the wrong section. I''ll be in the clock end right next to the NCFC fans, but still in with Arsenal. Last year when we conceeded in the opening minutes the steward saw me with my head in my hands and grabbed me, said if he sees one thing out of line I was out. Needless to say, that Morisson goal happened at the death to make it 3-3 and I went mad, as it was so late in the game he just grabbed me and shoved me back into the seat. Probably more for my own protection [:#]

Funnily enough I sat in the home end of the Arsenal game last season and although a few around us knew we were City fans they were relatively rfiendly. Don''t celebrate though, you''ll just get chucked out and risk getting punched.

TBH if there''s one thing that winds me up more than anything at Carrow Road, it''s away fans in home areas, especially when it''s so hard for our own fans to get tickets anyway!

 

Arsenal is farily renowned for season tickets belonging to corporates and reguarly being dished out to all and sundry, however, out of respect for the natives, I''d suggest you restrict your celebrations should the opportunity arise!

Thanks for all the advice. Will do my best to keep quiet, but just don''t know how I will react if we score. But as Smith says, not likely to happen!!

I have been in with the Villa fans at Carrow Road last time we were in the Prem. Everyone around me was drunk.

Lessons learned ;-

The person next to you may well want to talk about their team.

You can clap a good save, at the same time as people around you clap a good shot on goal.

You will feel uncomfortable most of the time, and will never forget the experience.

I say go for it, but shut it.

 

I have seen well behaved interlopers moved out simply because the home fans will not sit next to them once they have been rumbled.

I was in the Arsenal end at Highbury in 1994 when we lost 5-0 if I remember correctly. My mate was an Arsenal fan and got me the ticket. He took great delight in embarrassing me by reminding everybody around that I was a Norwich fan, after every goal.  A lasting memory is that the game was played in very bright sunlight and I simply could not understand why Gunn was not wearing a cap as I was convinced throughout the game that this contributed to his awful performance. .

I think if I was in with the Arsenal Fans on Saturday I wouldnt have got out alive in those final few minutes let alone when we scored.
