I''d imagine it was to do with his remarks to some opposition fans that we''re giving another member of the squad stick, he pointed out that they were keyboard warriors and he was more than happy to meet them in person to see if they were so brave.

Cant be about the ''Pornstar'' comment. It''s not offensive and it''s also very true.

He''s said stuff about killing criminals as well in the past, might have something to do with it.

Decent footballer with potential, but he really is thick judging from his tweets. Really thick.

To give that some context, he said something about the death penalty being an appropriate punishment for the scum that set fire to their house trying to get a bigger one, killing their 6 kids in the process. Being a new father he clearly felt rather upset by it.

Sky just said the club are waiting to see if the FA will be investigating, it might be a stupid thing to say in a public arena but whatever happened to freedom of speech.

Ryan Bennett, Peter Beardsley & David Beckham are all playing Trivial Pursuit.

Who wins?

How long does it take?

[/quote]

Sad thing is you could change those names for about 95% of British footballers.

Personally I think it''s probably to do with the "offering out" of opposition fans, than his political views. Daft thing to do certainly, but if you''re going to abuse a professional sportsman from behind the safety of your keyboard it''s pretty pathetic to go crying about it when they call you out on your bulls**t.

I agree with freedom of speech, but he knows full well that as a professional NCFC player they have social media codes of conduct. He should know better, end of...

After the Arsenal game he was having a pathetic argument with a twitter troll, both were name slinging. Bennett I remember him saying something derogatory about people who work for minimum wage... So I am not surprised to see punishment.

This is ridiculous, everyone is entitled to free speech, regardless of who they are. Some of the players take outrageous stick on there from idiots.

I can see your point Morty 100% .. yet if you were at work, ''representing the company'', and you acted in a manner in which reflected the company on a bad way, you expect punishment. Just the way it is, not my opinion of whats right.

Reading his tweets he does come across as another thick footballer who doesn''t know better. If they choose to be on Twitter they must be able to stand abuse if they can''t then twitter isn''t for them, they are paid silly money to kick a football around and media attention comes with that and the associated responsibilities, so if they don''t have nice things to say in public they should button it.

Lets face it, I doubt the club or the FA monitor the accounts, this is all about idiots starting arguments with the players then running crying to mummy when they are invariably made to look stupid.A company may pay your wages, they don''t own you.

Footballers represent their clubs, and a geographical area, in a way that people in other professions do not. They also represent the brand of football. It''s completely understandable that they are subject to internal procedures (and let''s be clear, internal to their employers, nothing legal going on here).

Agree in principle Morty, but to be fair when you''re being paid big money to represent a Premier League club you should really be able to deal with that in a more professional manner.

The "minimum wage" comment probably wasn''t the one he got in trouble for, but is probably the dumbest comment of the lot.

It is a bit embaressing to see how thick some of our players are, but this whole twitter thing is just stupid and blown out of proportion.

So they should live like monks, drink carrot juice and go to church on Sundays?Seriously when was the last time anyone actually believed that football players are role models?

I agree but presumably he wasnt on the training pitch or it wasnt during saturdays match while he was playing when he made the tweet. I do wonder why footballers feel the need for Twitter accounts though, it seems to bring them nothing but trouble.

But no-one forces footballers to use the absurdly misnamed social media. It is not obligatory.

No it was about 2am after the Arsenal defeat. Judging by what he said he''d had a few too many in Mercy.

this seems to be the fella that it was all about with. it seems he has deleted all comments that could associate him with anything to do with it. Ryan and Elliot benno seem to be tagged randomly talking about our ''milk cups'' in a few tweets but that''s it.
