Point proved methinks, the attacking philosophy of Paul Lambert, as displayed at NCFC and by A Villa tonight totally outweighs the negative and mundane defensive policy of one Chris Hughton.

Lets hope those of you with the positive attitude still have it after Saturday.

Strange that City 2nd, there was I thinking that Villa were below us in the table and have been pretty much all season.....

Yes so they may have been, but they have scored 6 tonight, so not for too much longer I fear!

When was the last time you saw us score a hatful - oh, it was under he management of Mr Lambert I imagine!

We are not the side on the up are we?

They might still be below us in the table but they''re going up & we''re going down. On Saturday they will wave us bye bye as they move up to safety & we drop into the mire.Say what you like but tonight Villa have done what we are totally incapable of doing.

This is brilliant, Villa who before today had only scored 16 goals at home are now suddenly world beaters. Stop wetting your pants, its not Villa we need to worry about anyway, its all about staying above Wigan who look like they are in deep trouble now as do Sunderland (a very poor team) and Newcastle

They''ll be on a high on Saturday & it''s our players who''ll be wetting their pants.

We''ll be fine......the folk who call the worried amongst you as ''pant-wetters'' have the uncanny ability to see into the future......

I''m putting in a graphic design to a local T-shirt company with the logo....."WE THE ''PANT-WETTERS.....TOLD YOU SO!"....

Oh yeah, we forgot, we have scored so many goals this season, particularly at home - and we have a striker who has scored - err, 5 all season. And we haven''t been thrashed by anyone, other than Fulham, oh and Liverpool twice, and Villa didn''t score at Carriw Road in the cup!

Yes, don''t worry anyone!

We really need to be up for this game. I''d hate us to lose to Villa & see Lambert jumping up and down with delight on the touchline. They beat us in the cup, we need to raise our game and seek sweet revenge.

Credit to Lambert and Villa tonight but lets do our very best to take the smile off his face. Hopefully Turner will be fit, we may need his experience.

Perhaps Liverpool''s win last weekend made some people look at Sunderland derby win in a different light. But all this looks bad for Newcastle because perhaps Sunderland are really as crap as they looked when we went there.

Newcastle are in it up to their necks.  The second worst away record in the league and 2 of their final 3 games are away from home, followed by a home game against Arsenal.

Re newcastle, Problem is that one of their away games is at QPR, who have long since pressed the self destruct button, waved as many white flags as they can and have already thrown all towels available onto the pitch.

The lifeboats were filled and released quite a while back now.

Newcastle, surely, will win there?

Too many threads to post on but this seems a good place. Now before this moves to the usual tedious optimist/pant wetter, superfan/binner rubbish.....Let''s take a look.Stats are fine.  Yet, this is the end of the season.  There are freak results everywhere. Take Villa last night! No way did i expect them get even one point given Sunderland''s recent form.  All we can go on is how each side down in "danger" are playing.  We have not been playing well recently.  Think it would be very hard to argue this point.  We beat Reading but made very hard work of it.  We were awful against Stoke.  Two sides horribly out of form.  Whilst i wouldn''t say Villa are pulling up any trees they will be super confident following last night.I would just like to say this......If we play as we did against Reading or Stoke, we will be incredibly lucky to get even one point.  If we can pull out the level of display against Arsenal then we could quite easily win it.  The team needs to be set up correctly and motivated.  The fans needs to be motivated.  Big effort needed by all.

Not conveniently forgetting them at all, they were so long ago, and are part of ONLY 8 wins this season. We have been awful fir months, and us anything in my opinion untrue - NO! It''s called realism, take off the yellow and green spectacles!
