Them floodlights and that restricted view

Recommended Posts

Daft question time.In the ground at Carrow Road, there are pillars which I assume support the floodlights.  Is there a way of removing the pillars, while still keeping the floodlights up there, and what do you reckon it would cost ?I reckon that removing the pillars would give another 500-750 people a full view of the pitch, might allow the club to charge a bit more for those seats ?

whenever I''ve looked at a few seats with restricted views, they were the same price as every other ticket in that area.

and it depends, the only way to get rid of the pillars would be to mount them to the top of the stands, so it depends if the stands could support them in their current state.

The clube in the past considered replacing the roofs on the Barclay and River end stands in the future with column free cantilever stands but in recent years due to the upsurge in crowds they''ve held back with the thought that maybe one day the stands will be replaced with bigger versions!

I agree the only thing that spoils our lovely stadium is the 4 columns supporting the Barclay and River end roof cause these cause many seats in the 3 seated corners to be resticted views!

Yep they support the roof of the Riverend and the Barclay. Also got to be remembered that even when the Main stand got built, the corners got filled in at a later date!

I''m in a restricted view corner seat for Villa, as I was for Man U.Very annoying, but that''s what us ''plastics'' have to do...

"Charge more for them"? They charge the same as a seat with a totally clear view, although they do state on the ticket what sort of view you should expect. If anything these tickets should be a few quid less...

I don''t know why we need floodlights at all. In the old days the club used to tether a barrage balloon over the ground, and Yankee, ricardo and myself were lowered down on ropes with a couple of heavy-duty torches each. That worked fine. I suppose it was some namby-pamby Socialist nonsense about health and safety put a stop to it.

Surely the burning torches of the Delia/Hughton outers should provide enough light?!
