Syteanric 1 Posted March 10, 2013 put all the "we were awful, its all about goals, we are going down!" crap to one side...why has no one given credit to the defence and Bunn for yesterday?if we are setting out to play defensively and stifling the opposition goal threat then the plan is working. we are now in double figures i think for clean sheets this season (Or nearly there!). a considerable improvement on last season it has to be said.Watching it online yesterday i''d be tempted to say thats one of the best performances the back 5 have put in all season. Particularly Turner and Garrido.
Redders Right Foot 22 Posted March 10, 2013 agreed, turner and bassong were excellent again, and surprisingly I thought turner more-soGarrido was excellent and was well placed going forward, always looking to get the ball to tap in a cross.martin was a tid-bit silent for me (going forward), but I''m sure some will disagree with me. but his defensive game, as per usual, was good. kingsway 94 Posted March 10, 2013 Like a lot of games this season, yesterday we defended well although Lallana missed a sitter!
Syteanric 1 Posted March 10, 2013 the interesting comment for me was on the online Stream, Gary Birtles mentioned how Southampton had taken a large number of shots on target.. and nearly all of them were straight at Bunn.Poor finishing or good defensive positioning? a1canary 0 Posted March 10, 2013 I make a similar point in my rant thread about fans losing their heads. Hughton has got us defending in a way that i have never seen in my lifetime as an NCFC fan. Ok it requires our best players to work properly but we just don''t look like conceding when we have our first choice back 5 in place. Ruddy and Whittaker would make it even stronger imo but given Ruddy''s injury, Bunn could turn out to have been one of our most important signings of the season.
