Bws Cat 0 Posted March 10, 2013 Anybody else agree that the slowly sung version of "Oh when the saints go marching in" was much better than the rushed and puffed out version we always hear? I think we can take a page from the saints fans book and sing OTBC much better and more truthfully to the original version.
TheRock 147 Posted March 11, 2013 Yes, would love OTBC to be more like the original version of the song, and slower + louder.
Bill 1,788 Posted March 11, 2013 And sung more infrequently, not barked out every couple of minutes like a cuckoo clock on speed that has swallow a couple of dozen boxes of pro plus Funny how West Ham with ''blowin bubbles, Brum with ''Keep right on ", Livepool ''Walk on'' can sing ther clubs song We get some halfwit giving us a ''countdown'' as if is the opening of a new poundshop in some chavvy town, being opened by a Big Brother contestant from 2005
im spartacus canary 0 Posted March 11, 2013 i think the saints fans copied the slower version from the spurs fans...either way it sounds much better than our pathetic efforts... another thing that annoys me is when the old fogies in the jarrold clap along to Y,army (which is a pathetic chant anyway) as if its max bygraves greatest hits..why the heck can''t they open there mouths to contribute as well ? barclaystand 0 Posted March 11, 2013 Would love us to sing OTBC, and other songs, slower and louder. Far better and more effective than a quick shout!Maybe someone could organise a rehearsal session at an away game!

Budapest Canary 151 Posted March 12, 2013 A slower or even mid-tempo version would be a lot better: at the current pace it is almost impossible to join in. At West Ham''s they play some musical accompaniment that sets the tune and tempo, and they turn it off by the time they get to the "fortune always hiding" bit. I can imagine something like that, or even a singer who sings the verses of the original and the crowd could join in with the chorus.

"No doubt this will come as great news to a lot of you, but I''m giving up this board. It would appear that my total support theory has gone on the scrapheap, judging by a lot of the replies to my recent posts.I am enjoying City wining at last, so much so, that I can''t keep getting wound up defending my position on total support. Its spoiling what is left of this season for me.CITY WILL STAY UP!, I''ll be content with that fact.I wish you all, yes all, good health, especially City Angel and Gazza the great. But my sanity comes first, and I can''t be a''doing with anymore arguments.I love my club, and my support will be as strong as ever.Prove me right Nigel Boy.Take care and cheers, 1st wizard."10/09/2005....."I''ve really had it with posters who''s only defence in a debate with me, is to throw in my face, that for the present, I can''t go to Carrow Road because of my illness. They then hide behind the words ''only a joke''. Old Shuck 181 Posted March 13, 2013 Of course Wiz will be back on here. Racing certainty. Nailed on. He''ll say he''s decided to give us/the board "another chance". Agree on Saints song. Right speed and tone, very effective. Constantly shouting "Y''Army" isn''t singing its just a spot of communal shouting. The Scousers were giving YNWA an airing on Sunday at the end of their game against Spurs, a fitting epilogue to the game-hugely effective again and, it seemed, from all around the ground. I don''t like the countdown either-though I''ll usually have a go at singing at the song everytime, the trouble is, everyone goes at different speeds and different words, "scrummage" in particular. But the goal music? An aberration. No-one seems to like it so why its persisted with I don''t know. Its not so much the jingle used-and it sounds like the music you''d use for a Viagra ad-its the whole concept of playing music (!!) after a goal is scored. Oh please...
