Stig 0 Posted March 29, 2013 Apparently he decided to turn down a chance to invest in Norwich City! I dunno how I missed this one, it''s a bit of a nothing story from a few years ago but it''s the bloody wolverine. He even has some shirts. I do like our small collection of celebrity investors, wouldn''t have turned my nose up at him joining the boat.
QHcanary 0 Posted March 29, 2013 A well known City fan. Has spoken about this in interviews in the past.
Alan_Grey 0 Posted March 29, 2013 Some proof for anyone who might be sceptical about Hugh Jackman having links to our club!http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/15228212http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kukoOH4NbWohttp://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00kzj33 (from about 2:30)
Mr Brownstone 0 Posted March 29, 2013 It''s definitely true, I''m actually (quite tenuously) related to him through marriage, his Mother lives in the City. Never met him though.
TheRock 171 Posted March 29, 2013 He used to attend games as a kid.Maybe we should go down the Fulham route and build a Wolverine statue of him! [:D]
Stig 0 Posted March 29, 2013 Woops, completely forgot the link to the article! Thanks.A wolverine statue would just be the bomb outside Carrow Road, commission it!
TIL 1010 4,745 Posted March 29, 2013
He used to attend games as a kid.
Jackman has never lived in this country so i don''t know where you got that info Rock ? His parents were from Norwich and they emigrated to Australia in the 1960''s where he was born. However his parents divorced and his mum returned to England but Hugh remained in Australia with his father.
The Walking Man 13 Posted March 29, 2013 I thought his Mum lived Blakeney/Cley way...
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted March 29, 2013 I would love to see Hugh Jackman tip up at a Norwich match. He is clearly busy all over the world but I''m sure he''d love the experience, especially with Van Wolfswinkel, what a coup.
canarydan23 4,060 Posted March 30, 2013 His Nan used to live within walking distance of the ground and whilst he never lived here, he was here often enough to have a favourite pub. It was what Kings used to the be, I can''t recall it''s name, no doubt someone can enlighten me.This was all in an interview on Soccer AM several years ago, so he was a frequent visitor to Carrow Road. chicken 0 Posted March 30, 2013 Could be wrong but I am sure his Nan ran a pub back then and he used to come and visit and go to games. Wiki used to list celeb supporters but doesn''t appear to do so anymore. Not sure about a statue but why not Hollywood style stars on the pavement or something similar? Like the clubs badge inside a star with their hanprints, perhaps on the wall of the stands?
Wooftie 0 Posted March 30, 2013 Here''s his soccer AM interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7k0HSEpkVx0He refers to the old farm derby being "football at its greatest", he clearly knows what he is on about!I''m pretty sure his mum is a fan or something, and lives in the area. Good enough reason as any!
