Kirkstall Yellow 0 Posted April 3, 2013 When the news broke of RVW i was incredibly excited, and couldn''t wait for safety to be a mathematical certainty. I know im not the only one who is beginning to feel like safety isnt quite as close as perhaps we''d all thought last week. So, i didn''t think we lose at Wigan. But i didnt think we would win. 2 points they''ve lucked out of us, one point we''ve dropped. not the end of the world. yet.Yes, the gap is closing, but there are 7 other teams in the same boat as us. And they don''t have Bassong.I must admit, my slight concern about our lack of goals has now developed into a very large concern about our lack of attacking threat, creativity and, of course, our finishing. But I still think we will struggle to the scrappy win or two that we need. Lets not forget, we are still hard to beat. Snodders, Holty and co haven''t turned into terrible players overnight, they have quality and i am certain we will see more of it before the end of the season. lets face it, Hughton is definitely running ''attacking'' coaching sessions this week. we will score again, one way or another. There are still 7 games left. We have to regard Reading (h) now as an absolute must win. And we cant afford a slip up against our former hero. Although, as we know, he does have a handy way of winning the games he really needs to win. so no guarantees there.I am also expecting heavy-ish defeats at the hands of arsenal and man city. sadly. Although with Bassong in the team, maybe we''ll only concede a couple. anything out of these two games is a bonus. So that leaves us with Swansea, Stoke, and West Brom. adding 3 (or, fingers crossed, more) points from those 3 games to the three we have to take from reading will takes us to those magical 40 pts that every relegation-threatened team dreams of.Easy stuff. Then a busy summer, followed by RVW destroying premier league defences for fun next season, wearing yellow and green!3 points against Swansea and i''m sure i''ll be able to sleep again. right? Fozzie 0 Posted April 3, 2013 I''m finding it hard to be optimistic but I always try to prepare for the worst. However, from our good spell this season we''ve been missing Ruddy, Whittaker, Tettey and Pilkington, and they''re all available now (or close to it).I think we definitely have a squad capable of getting through this. Hughton seems to work better under pressure and the unbeaten run came when it was starting to look bad at the beginning of the season.I dunno...Football, eh? AJ 1,358 Posted April 3, 2013 Can you see us getting 3 points against Swansea?Yes I know it''s at home, but look how much it took as to get around Everton!A win against Swansea could kick-start our run-in. I agree Fozzie, maybe the pressure helped us perform, we seem to have lost the thing that made it tick. Tettey back, hopefully Pilks back too - lets see if we can get Carrow Road rockin'' again
star_manic 0 Posted April 3, 2013 whatever team Ch puts out, he must switch Snoddy back to the right wing. he is much more effective there and KK can play left if Pilks isn''t ready. and isn''t it time to give Becchio a chance to show what he can do? BOO 0 Posted April 3, 2013 We need to start playing with some self belief and confidence, I''d love to see us really getting forward in the early part of the game and playing like the home team.
