Canaries Utd 0 Posted April 6, 2013 he is behind, Hoolahan, Kamara and Holt... honestly, he should be given a chance in a ''strikers'' position, Hoolahan is not a striker!

City 2nd 193 Posted April 6, 2013 It begs the question just why was Becchio brought to this club? Did Hughton really want him, or was it just to unload Morison? Or was it down totally to someone else? The guy must be totally gutted that he left regular playing time to spend most of his time on the bench here!
QHcanary 0 Posted April 6, 2013 Always struck me as an alternative to a player that clearly had no future at the club and didn''t want to be here any more. A backup striker, really. I don''t think there were many realistic alternative signings in january. Given a few chances he might score a few, but it''s obvious he''s not top of the pecking order. Redders Right Foot 22 Posted April 6, 2013 I think the problem was he and kamara needed to impress right off the bat, unfortunately for becchio, Kamara scored and he didn''t.however, after today, I think Becchio will be used instead of holt as the sub.it may even be worth a look of sticking kamara behind becchio to start. hoolahan could use a rest. basil brush 0 Posted April 6, 2013 I concur of much of what has been said so far. I don''t see the point of bringing a player to the club - especially a player who was scoring well - to a club that is finding it hard to score and not play him! Our forwards didn''t score again today, so he must feel terribly frustrated.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,035 Posted April 6, 2013 i thought when we signed him we had traded in Morision ,a player that could only be used as a replacement for Holt for someone that could possibly be used with Holt........turns out we''ve signed someone that can''t be used at all? AJ 1,359 Posted April 6, 2013 I don''t understand why we don''t play him up top instead of Hoolahan

I''m not sure that he was ever intended Becchio to be a mainstay of the first team.
jed exodous 0 Posted April 6, 2013 Becchio may have been a panic buy, but he''s a goalscorer. He''s regularly scored 15 -20 goals for Leeds, for me, if a player is scoring regularly at Championship, for an average team, its worth a shot in the PL. Trouble is, its a bit of gamble to give him a run of games because we''re desperate for points. He may get a chance against Arsenal, but realistically, we can''t judge him against one of the top 4, because chances are we''ll be under the cosh and probably wont create much against them. I think he''s been a little unlucky to have joined when he did.
Canaries Utd 0 Posted April 6, 2013 I think he''s been unlucky when the manager chooses to play with one striker up front! [:(]
NorthWalesCanary 0 Posted April 6, 2013 I don''t think Hughton really wanted Becchio, it was just a convenient way to get rid of a want-away Steve Morison. Becchio has played about as much as I would have expected Morison to play.
