We will not beat Swansea on Saturday!

Recommended Posts

We will of course go into the game looking for a point, as always, and will do all we can to shut Swansea out. Whether they succeed in breaking us down, I don''t know.

However, we won''t score more than them on Saturday. It will be a point or no points for us. We won''t beat them.

We need to support the team, through thick and thin. I''m not very happy with things at the moment but that doesn''t we have to lash at the club.

I''ll be behind the lads, same as ever, on Saturday.

Just saying what I feel. I also think Hughton will probably wear a suit on Saturday too and maybe make a sub or two. After we''ve conceded of course. Predictions, predictions.

No point us bothering to turn up then. it''s blinkin cold out so best we all stay in the warm[;)]

We will play deep. We will play for the draw. Swansea will play with flair. Swansea will play for the win. Swansea will prevail.

And before anyone says but Swansea are on a losing run and out of form, our results against Newcastle, Fulham and Southampton - all allegedly out of form sides - were nothing to write home about. And these were all before the real relegation pressure was on the team as it is now. The only antidote to our decline that I can suggest is to try and attack, try and win the match, but I fear such a strategy is unrealistically radical.

I feel we will beat them.

Were you expecting us to go out and score 4 against them away from home, in the prime of our sit back and defend to get the points run?

Once I realised QPR were going to get 42 points I decided our task was hopeless.

In fact - best let CH and the 1st team know - just in case they were tempted to show up on Saturday.................

A win against Swansea would be great from every point of view, but we have to face facts.

1) In the fixture at Swansea we did win, but largely because we had a three goal lead, as we caught them cold. Even so, they nearly pulled us back, and we were hanging on by our finger tips at the end.

2) The big difference is that they have one of the best strikers in the Premiership in Michu, with already 18 goals to his name. Our best has 5.

3) They are seem to be safe from relegation, and have little to play for, perhaps. But they will be up for this game. Their players have been talking of the need for revenge for several days now.

I desperately want us to win, for all sorts of reasons, but we have a tall order to acquire even one point, especially after our lack lustre performances recently, and especially our goal-shy strikers.

Was this thread started by the same poster who boldly claimed we would definitely lose at Sunderland?

Every game is a tall order. There are no easy games in the Premier league. Every team has had millions to develop a squad. The Swansea game is no easier or more difficult than Wigan or Southampton. They will also show the same respect to us.

Had we been bolder in January, after the four game losing run, and set out to try and win football matches rather than play for the draw, in my opinion, we would not be scrabbling around hoping for a 0-0, or if we''re lucky a 1-1, against a team who was promoted with us via the playoffs.

My predictions

1) We will win vs Swansea

2) Row D and Highland Canary still won''t be happy

3) Row D will post a "we won''t win vs Reading" topic

4) We will beat Reading and stay up

5) Row D will post a "we won''t win a game all next season" topic

6) We win our first home game next season, with RVW scoring

7) Row D does some soul searching and finally admits he has the IQ of a baked potato

I''m a little confused - so many on here seem to be getting rather mopey insisting that we will get next-to-no more points this season (maybe v Reading if we are lucky), yet in the same breath seem to be suggesting that getting a point v Swansea would be bad. Surely if the expectation is for a near-certain defeat on Saturday, a draw is good?

It''s been a pretty feeble effort this year and needs to change on Saturday

Strange - just as I was reading Vamwink''s post I got a email popup notifying me of an email headed - Whitepaper Wizard - what could this mean?

You won''t be surprised to hear it was spam.
