I like McVeigh, nice guy and comes across well.

The only thing that lets him down is his accent, it''s hard to understand him sometimes!

I like him. One of those bubbly extroverted people who can get on the nerves of quiet introverted people.....

.... but quiet introverted people don''t tend to make good radio presenters.

As least he has been made aware that not everyone is happy at the moment. He

came out with the line ''that perhaps we have been living in a bubble here at

Radio Norfolk'' because he didn''t realise that not everyone shares his views

that all is hunky dory. He seemed quite shocked by Geff.... good!

That particular caller articulated my thoughts quite well. I was pleased

that I am not alone. As this forum represents.

My upset with the coverage during my 20 years of listening is that there is

no balance... everything is positive about the club, even when we were in

League 1. They use reasoning and arguments to support the regime, whoever it

is, and it does stand out when someone doesn''t tow the party line, like that

Geff.

What the staff do at the club is opinion, not necessarily fact or reality....

but the presenters make it seem indisputable and rational. No debate is had, no

alternative. Sit on the fence BBC.

Canary call is a platform for differing viewpoints but that has

only been around a few years don’t forget. Before that it was dear Roy on his

own. Cootie as his sidekick, when not part of the matchday squad, gave his best

performances for the club in the commentary box!

McVeigh isn''t very respectful for those with a different opinion to his

own... he tries to make them seem foolish. He is perfectly entitled to respond

and engage in physical sparring, it is a phone-in…… but trying to paint them as

ill informed isn’t right. Just because we didn’t play pro football like him,

doesn’t mean we don’t have the qualifications to have an opinion. We are

seasoned observers and paying customers.

Forbes is the same as McVeigh, a supporter of the establishment, but at

least he has manners.

I did like Adams also, he had more democratic virtues. But he was employed by the

club don’t forget! So it can only go so far!

No one wanted to do him out of a

job, but he had the intelligence to know where the boundaries were for his club

role, and when to be diplomatic. But it’s hardly ideal…… When he left the

academy he was then free to express an unbiased opinion.

However, maybe he was then bias AGAINST Roeder at the time, in the same way

that McVeigh is anti-Lambert, because of HIS personal history.

Someone with independence would be better, a neutral.... any Swiss pundits

out there?

McVeigh is to close to the squad, hes hardly gonna rib his mates on the radio and then be top chap at the next days golf outing !Personally think him and that other over zealous twat are retarded. This weekend was the first time Ive ever been tempted to tweet or call canary call in my life. And what i wanted to say was " Can we stop this entertainment / sport debate and get back to the bleeding Fulham game"

Paul works on many media platforms now so he must be doing something right.

Radio Norfolk is quite special though, as are the lovely people who listen to it.

Interesting to see City 2nd claim he had no moral virtues. The Paul McVeigh I know is a very religious man, morally guided and an intelligent individual.

The Luton display was unbelievably bad and presented an ideal opportunity for the Canary Call presenters to let rip but they were very tame and seemed scared to cross the party line. Neil Adams was even worse but he did have the excuse that his hands tied by off-air Club activities.

I was always under the impression that one or two players during that era had an issue with a member or a few members of the local media, one of whom was Paul McVeigh. The personnel has changed a lot since of course.

I love the comments about it being a shame Neil Adams doesnt do it anymore,  i remember a thread exactly the same as this when he used to do it, the guys dealing with the idiots who phone in on Canary Call deserve a bloody medal.
