On the one hand we might find delight in the thought of them being relegated but it might be just the kick up the backside that they need. All that we have achieved in the last three years has stemmed from the humiliation of our relegation and it forced us into radical change. Perhaps it''s better that they continue to just avoid the trapdoor for a few more seasons yet.I prefer to see them as a Championship basket case rather than regaining some momentum in a League 1 promotion drive.

It is obvious he''s a binner City1st. He knows hardly anything about the club, is barely semi-literate, is constantly defensive about Ipswich, and is telling us that we shouldn''t hate them.

What we have here is a classic case of an Ipswich fan whose soft spot for Norwich is his dirty little secret, one so dark that he dare not ever tell his parents or closest friends.

At very least he is a Norwich fan who ''switched'' allegiances at an early age, having been raised in Suffolk by Ipswich supporting parents, creating a conflict in emotions which makes him possibly 60% Norwich fan / 40% Ipswich fan.

Like a football team bisexuality.

Its obvious ain''t it why would you want your rival to be gone, you''d wish them to be disappointed by their idiot of a owner who''d give them the hope of promotion to the holy land but get crushed by the reality of the championship were they sign expensive shite players and have a host of clueless managers whilst we''re in the league above them enjoying ourselves.

Heh I personaly would want them to get up and see derbys again ^^

As a finnish supporter I dont hate them nor want them to suffer more than any other team as far as we are above them and as we dont anyone else to derby with it would be fun to experience The East Anglian derby''s atmosphere again.

And it seems our new rival Aston Villa is dropping down too and QPR who even I hate, so we are soon out of interesting opponents ^^

Interesting. I wonder if any other clubs supersede the scum on an NCFC fans "most hated" list.

I think there would be some general dislike of Man U, Liverpool and Wolves depending on your generation and perhaps Dirty Leeds too.

They hate us, which I prefer. They''re jealous of us due to our success

and a common Ipswich fan is full of bitterness and wouldn''t give us any

praise. Don''t hate be smug.

How much do I hate the scum? Let me count the ways!

When i was a young man I was asked one day over lunch whether I''d prefer European qualification for City or relegation for the scum when we were both in the old first division. My response was "bye bye scum!".

I''d be delighted to see them drop through the leagues and end up with a local derby against Harwich and Parkstone Quay. It''s a shitty little club, end off.

I have never forgotten those derbys in the 80s,the spitting, the coins thrown,p!ss and whatever else. Then violence that went before and after them.I dont use the word hate very often but i really hate Ipswich town, the ground, the fans and the place with a passion.I honestly dont know one town fan that has anything of any intrest to say.All i ever get is history, history and wait a minute.... blah blah blah look what we won back in the day.I really do think there scum after the disgracefull scenes before after the last two derbys, hitting women and generally being proper tough guys, spitting and hurling abuse. So if that small club from Suffolk falls into the ryman premier league so be it......good f***ing riddance![:D]

Its my opinion, we all have one, just like we all have an ar$e [:D]

Your right Che - if the items people are posting on this thread are genuine then they are sick and are scum themselves. I like to beat the local rivals full stop.

Can I assume you weren''t at Portman Road in ''95 (the Bryan Gunn mis-kick game), when at the final whistle their fans invaded the pitch ,assaulted our players then congregated below us on the pitch goading us for a good 20 minutes unchallenged by stewards or police?

An incident which was all then conveniently swept under the carpet the the then "Chairman of the football league" David Sheepshanks?
I''d like to see them suffer the humiliation of getting relegation to League One and fail to get up at first attempt, taking a good three or four seasons to get promoted again (preferably losing in the play-off semi finals for three consecutive seasons), then winning promotion back to the Championship but by finishing 2nd (so without the glory of a league winners medal and without the pleasant experience of a play-off final at Wembley), and then I''d like to see them come up with plenty of optimism that they would be able to "do a norwich" before reverting straight back to the type (spend millions every year on finishing in the bottom third of the table). I feel that the misery of League One would be suitable justice for the attitude that their fans, local papers, and club executives had when mocking us upon relegation. I''d draw the line at anything more severe such as complete obliteration or a Luton style slide into non-league, because I''d fear that many of there pathetic neanderthalic fans would start attending Carrow Road, and that wouldn''t be a good thing. It is quiet enough as it is, for a start, and most of them smell funny.
YES! This :)

I must be in the minority here but I would like to see them then in prem with us. As long as we beat them every year and finish above them in the table I would be happy. Cant beat derby days IMO. Also its not like we have loads of teams in the area, make the most of those we have I say.

No I definitely am not a binner before it gets suggested. Just wouldnt wish portsmouth situation on any team or business.

Derby days are missed for me, but would love them in the top flight and not the championship.

the reason why they are struggling at the bottom of the Championship and have been for 6 or so seasons is because they are in debt and can no longer compete in the trasnsfer market, scratching around for loans and free transfers.

I can''t see this cycle being broken in the foreseeable future but if for one season it happened to click there and they did somehow manage to be promoted , with the finances coming the way of the Premiership , it would wipe their debts out.....................I wouldnt want that club finding a 5p piece on the pavement let alone £80m Premiership cash.

Just as I would like to see Gary Glitter entertaining our local primary school.

They are where they are through their own dishonest, fraudulent behaviour. Were other clubs to follow suit football as we know would have collapsed years ago. Many local businesses continued supplying goods to them and waited for payment for work on their ground because they were assured by Sheepshanks that they would be paid, when he knew that was not going to be the case. Though one or two ''preferred'' suppliers were paid just before they went bankrupt. Likewise the Inland Revenue who were cheated out of £4.7m.

I don''t know what you do for a living Mervmeister bit were you to be employed I wonder what you reaction would be were you to find that the NI and tax deductions taken from your salary had actually been trousered by your employer, as with all the other employees deuctions. Or maybe if you were self employed, perhaps you could tell us what your reaction might be to find that you''ve no chance of getting any of your invoices paid as the company who engaged your services has trousered the money due to you.

Yep, I can imagine you on here bleating away how that company should be allowed to carry on trading on the High Street while other companies pay it''s share. Carry on shoving fat bonuses into it''s chairman''s pockets whilst those more honest are defrauded out of the money that company owes them.

As to what happens to them all I can say is that is some rough justice in that they had to hand over their club to someone with the same approach to honesty as them - and are now, and have been, suffering the consequences of their own actions. Where that takes them I don''t know and don''t really care - other than if they never come stinking out Carrow Road again in my lifetime then I shall not shed a tear............. just as they never shed a tear for, or apologised to, the numerous decent folk they robbed.

Some of us have different values Mervmeister.

Completely agree!I will never forget going with my now wife and her brother to the 5-1 game. Before the game as we were being "escorted" a man tried to go for my wife until I got in between them and swiftly showed him the way towards his own stand... Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a complete neanderthal. Then them lining the streets as we were shepherded up to the coaches... spitting, throwing coins etc... My only other away derby was the one two seasons previous (3-2 town) and it was nothing like that (they did win though!) Let them go down, let their awful club never get anywhere near us again and let us play them only in cup games where the manager and the fans remember the rivalry and for one day, home or away, we stamp our dominance all over them on the pitch and outside watch the last of their petty support wither away as the mighty yellow army marches by.

I heard from a reliable source that everybody from Ipswich undergoes a medical procedure at birth which involves what little brain they do have being sucked out via there left nostrel and substituted with a dog sh17 implant via the right nostrel .

Personally I can''t confirm this but from comming in contact with that wierd breed over the years I suspect it''s spot on.

I think given that this country is so short of landfill shites the best course of action would be to cluster bomb the whole area from stowmarket to Felixstowe and erect a large electric fence around the area.

Eventually we can then use the dump as a dump and pile all the countries cr4p there.

Actually who would notice the difference?

Totally agree with your sentiments City 1st. Yes there are many suppliers who were owed money and suffered together with their workers.

The most incredible thing for me was Sheepshanks awarded the Freedom of Ipswich a couple of years later. I have never been able to work that one out!
