September 1991

Recommended Posts

We lost 3-0 away to Man Utd in the old 1st Division. A full year BEFORE the Premier League had begun.

Ryan Giggs scored is 1st goal proper against us. He has been credited with a goal prior to this, though largely seen as an og. Either way, nearly 22 YEARS on, this guy will be making his 1000th appearance and all against us, one of the teams against which it all started.

I''m no Man Utd fan, but must admit that we all owe him a salute. To play for this long period of time AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL throughout, is pretty damn amazing.

God knows how many times he has scored against us, but it''s been quite a few! Opening day at Carrow Road 1993 springs to mind, as well as last season and of course 1991.

His goals against us alone have spanned 21 years, I can''t believe that has been done previously!!

Playing in the first team for 22 years?!

Well done son.

Impressive to be playing at the top flight at 39.There''s an Angus Deayton story doing the rounds about how Man U fan Angus bumped into Ryan Giggs, and Giggs asked him the result of a show he''d been hosting as he had to be in bed by 10pm and had missed the result..........
