Where is the confidence going to come from?

Recommended Posts

Today was an ideal opportunity for the team to regain some confidence but that performance has just made things worse.

Needless to say no-one at the club comes out with any credit. I am particularly concerned about a few players whose performance levels have fallen so far I don''t think they would get in Luton''s youth team let alone their first team.

Howson has got to be the biggest disappointment of the season. Today was set up for him to show his class but he is clearly so devoid of confidence that he looked like he didn''t belong on the pitch with such esteemed opposition.

Elliott Bennett has turned in to a headless chicken and seems to be trying so hard that he is forgetting to do the basics.

Ryan Bennett looks like the biggest waste of £3.2m in the history of football let alone NCFC. Future England international? What a joke! We''ve clearly been done up like a kipper by Barry Fry on that one.

Don''t get me wrong, I am not blaming these players for today''s debacle, although they certainly played their part. The team performance was pedestrian, passionless and shameful. The odds of seeing Fox and Barnett playing for the first team again have got to be very slim after that.

All the players have got to take a close look at themselves after today. Hughton also got it completely wrong in the second half with his clear tactic of ''bang it up to Holt'' which made us look like even more of a pub team, especially when Holt failed to win anything in the air.

Every team must be looking for us in their fixture list right now and salivating at the prospect of playing us. The rot has got to stop somewhere and we can''t rely on a saviour new signing to turn things around. It has got to come from within. Question is: Is Hughton capable of injecting confidence?
