Agreed with exception to Fox. The rest are not good enough for where we are now. They should have been ripping up trees to "prove" themselves today and they''ve let themselves down, the club, the supporters. No way back now.Very bad day in the office overall. More embarrassing than anything else as we''ll no doubt feature in countless FA Cup videos over the next couple of decades and, unfortunately, these players who wore the shirt today will forever be linked to it whether they like it or not.Back to basics, get a decent striker in, get rid of this dead wood and let''s focus on survival.

Pff Surman was only player that made link up plays today. Beside Hoolahan he might have shined and absent of 3 months mean he probably wasnt at his best, but he is very useful squad player.

Bennet is young. I''m watching every week Real Madrid play and he reminds me a lot of poor version of Raphael Varane. He will improve.

With rest I agree more or less. Fox isn''t option if he doesnt have player like Tettey beside him who will run the miles for him and I still prefer Johnson over Fox for his raw power.

Jackson just wont fit our playing style. I like the guy, but we almost never hit the ball on the ground behind the line and as his skills are solely for that purpose, he just isnt enought for us.

As for Barnett I cant find anything good to say. He is known of his physical power, but he couldnt shrugg off Luton''s strikers, he is bad at passing and bad in positioning.

Howson confusses me. Saw enough of him at end of last season to make me belive he would be our player of season this year. But he has been utterly useless!!

I would flog him first personally whilst he still able to be sold for a half decent return. His reputation only gonna get worse with time if he keeps on performing this way.

Ryan Bennett had an ok game compared to the others you mention but the abuse Surman got when he went off was silly, the guy has been out for 3 months he didnt play well in the first half but he was trying to do the things others should have been doing in passing and moving in the difficult areas where he was under pressure rather than standing still watching the game while the back four and Fox spent the entire game passing to each other, but keeping such a beautiful organised shape.

The problem with Fox is that he likes to take the pass in front of the back four. When he comes up against a solid well-organised team like Luton, who press him he can''t cope. He''s not physical and can''t dribble, if you shut down his passing options he''s ineffective.Surman was bought to play the left tip of the diamond, to provide creativity when Hoolahan gets shackled. He can''t play left-wing because he''s got no pace, nor centre-mid because he can''t tackle and has no physical presence.Jackson will be off in the summer. His contract''s up. Sell them? NOW? Who to, exactly? Assuming that they have proved today that they are not Premier League players, then its likely any suitors are going to be in the Championship?

 

So who has the money and who might like them? And who is going to at least match, in the Championship, their Premier League wages here? And are they going to want to go? In which case, how much is it going to cost us to pay off their contracts and give them all free transfers-quite a lot with Surman and Fox for a start.

Thing is that you need to have some backup. It''s hard to see us being able to sign players significantly better than that who are happy to come in and be backup.

 

I mean I have no idea why we spent that money on Ryan Bennett. Total waste of money. Same with Ayala and same with Vaughan. A lot of money that Lambert wasted on players who are not good enough and will not be good enough.

 

Hard to see where Fox is going to fit in from now on too.

I''ve never seen anything to believe why Ryan Bennett was signed, let alon for over £3million.  I can''t ever recall him playing well or showing any promise in the Premier league.  I''ve been really disappointed with him.

 

Barnett should''ve been sold last January.

 

Fox is a difficult one.  I''ve not seen any of his appearences this season, but last year he was playing really well. 

 

Surman is a decent player, he''s got his own style of play, which isn''t quite the same as Snoddy or Pilks.  He''s played quite a lot before this season, and scored some important goals.  I still think he''s got something to offer.

 

Jackson should''ve been sold in the summer and replaced.

Its funny though that last season you didn''t hear anyone once say these players were not good enough. These players are good enough its just the tactics and formations we are playing do not suit 80% of our players. I honestly think the dressing room has been lost by Hughton.

please correct me if I am wrong, but Bennett had some good games with Bassong during the 10 game run I believe, while Turner was out.

However, with no Bassong all our defenders look poor. However, when with Bassong even Barnett looked good for a time.

I think the reality for most of our team, if we was allocating them ''FM'' points, would be farily good technical skills, but poor mental skillset.

v Arsenal - Bennett came on as 90'' minute sub.

v Villa - Bennett came on at right back at HT, which is not his position, and was well out of sorts, not his fault he was played out of position.

v Stoke - Bennett came on after 54 minutes.

v Reading - Didn''t play.

v Man U - Didn''t play.

v Everton - Played full 90.

v Southamptin - Played full 90.

v Sunderland - Played full 90.

v Swansea - Didn''t play or feature on the bench.

v Wigan - Didn''t play or feature on bench.

 

So he''s played a few games during ''the run'', but couldn''t hold down a place.  I''m not convinced he''ll ever be good enough for us in the Premier league.

Thanks Jed, looks like I was mistaken.

The reality, the Norwich first team, when in form is a very good standard in the premiership.

However, when we have a few injuries, and couple out of form. We probably have quite a difference between the first team and backups, which is only natural even at a top side. It''s not like RVP quality players are in reserve.

I feel that the Bennett''s who may or may not be good enough for the premiership, is what most bottom half of the table sides should have as a squad player.

In that I mean, a younger player, looking to develop them, but is more or less a bit of a gamble from the lower leagues.

At this point in time, I don''t think financially or from an appealing point of view, can Norwich attract experienced players, on high wages to sit on the bench.

We have to accept, that our bench/backup will be made up of lower leagues, and sometimes they will work out and sometimes they wont.

I can''t see Bennett leaving for the record. At least I can see him being 4th choice defender (currently 3rd?), for example Davies might be 2nd/3rd choice, but apparently he on 25k+ a week at Birmingham.
