Attacking River End 2nd Half-Got to stop

Recommended Posts

How many clubs let the away team attack towards there fans 2nd half while we attack towards the Zombies. Also how clubs would let a linesman give decisions in front of 4 thousand away fans. Things like this are making home games like away games for our players and at the moment its another excuse for there abject displays

I agree entirely about where the away fans are situated. They always have far too much of an impact on the linesman, and the lino is always sh1t scared of giving anything against the away team. Think they should be moved to the N&P upper.

Yeah but...

It''s the slope.. the sun...

...or that we traditionally do better that way round[;)]
We dont do better, big games we do better attacking barclay and I bet we would never had lost yesterday if we were attacking our fans 2nd half and not them

Your''re right Simmo - I have puzzled over this for sometime. I fail to understand why we always kick towards the Barclay first half.

Have to agree with this. As someone''s handle used to be on here (don''t know if you''re still around), Attack the Barclay 2nd half FFS !!!!

As a long time Barclay Boy who always wanted us to kick towards the Barclay second half I have to be fair and say that the stats don''t back up what we think. From the comeback against Middlesboro to this season''s defeat of Arsenal there are as many good results either way round. In fact I think Riverend second half actually shades it.

Now where''s that porn thread gone! Whatever''s gorn on Naillll[:|]

Do you want us relegated? Its suicide playing towards the riverend first half. Have you seen all the Barclay fans with their hands up shading their eyes from the sun? Sun would blind the goalie, and blind defenders dealing with high balls. Kamikaze pilots always attacked with the sun behind them to blind the emeny.

Bit rich referring to the river end as zombies when the lower barclay isn''t much better these days. Never heard about peep out out of there for the whole game Saturday. You only sing when we''re winning :-)

Errrrrrrrr! Could be something to do with the fact the referee tosses a coin with the away captain making the call and the decision of whether to KO, or kick in s particular direction? DOH!

Quality use of the English language Simmo - calling the River Enders (and fellow City fans, if you hadn''t worked that out already), Zombies! How did you come up with that little nugget, actually I don''t really want to know tbh. If you hadn''t worked out that the Ref tosses a coin and the away skipper calls the shots, then I think certain things are beyond you.

Ok, accepted sun might be an issue, but Wednesday night it won''t be so let''s give it a go - River End 1st half and Barclay 2nd half.

Sun wasn''t an issue when we beat Palace in ''73[:O] Or the Boro game. Or the Arse game this season. Unless we lose the toss an awful lot I''m pretty sure we usually choose to kick toward the Barclay first half.

Opened this thread up expecting it to be from somebody who had managed to listen in on Hoots half time talk. Venting his spleen that players in the first half had taken up too advanced positions, to his chagrin he had even seen some cross the half way line.

There is so much wrong with the OP. Its quite irrelevant which way we line up (and I think Nutty is right about the stats - results better the way we played on sat)

however the inoperative word is attack - we have become too dependent on counter attacking - i think sat was only the third game this season where we have had more than 50% possession (doncaster and peterborough the others) - on sat it looked like we simply did not know what to do with the ball or time in possession.

Thats fine against the arsenals and if we can hold on - but when we need to chase the game we need to be comfortable on the ball and be able to create through the centre of the park as well as swinging in crosses to a striker not in the centre.

Its that approach that is the problem to resolve - not which direction we face, whether a lucky player is in the line up or the fans clutching any other hopeful straw

You obviously know very little about football, a top manager would not let this situation arise fergie, warnock, martin oneil have all changed certain things to get a small advantage. Sing up the river end.
You really are struggling understanding what I am saying Simmo, aren''t you?. Which bit of Ref tosses the coin ( that is something relying on chance btw , and nothing that ANY manager can fix) and the away Captain calling it possibly to his advantage, do you not understand?

You dont have a clue mate, if we warmed up in front of barclay and were in this position to start with about 70% of away captains would not swap round like at the moment. I can tell you have never played the game by your naivety to what Im trying to get over, it was the same against villa in carling cup
You really are struggling understanding what I am saying Simmo, aren''t you?. Now I''m your mate, make your mind up!

Why don''t you debate/reply to the points, I actually talk about in my posts, and not what you think I should be talking about?

As Nutty says, the stats don''t actually support your argument, and where do you get your random ''about 70%'' from? Do you think the opposition doesn''t do any research beforehand? How do you spell naive again?

If you want to get into stories, then you can look back at my posts over time, and you will find at what level, and which sport, I played, and I can tell you right now, that I couldn''t have survived by being naive, and you certainly needed a lot more cunning and know how, to survive that, than what you are rambling on about.

Others would tell you at this juncture, to go and borrow a best selling magazine, and find an empty room, but that isn''t my style.

I would just urge you to calm down, before you blow a gasket

Now Now you got all upset because I said people in N&P are very quiet and dont support there team in a normal manner, Its a shame because when it was the river end it had quite a good atmosphere. Another thing I will add is after attending approximately half the grounds in this country and many more, N&P is one of the quietest areas I have seen. Back to the original debate why do Liverpool attack the Kop 2nd half if possible, Newcastle the Gallogate etc etc etc etc or are all these clubs wrong, or have they the wrong mentality as you are saying I am wrong with my idea on how to win more matches
