I have never been one to get caught up in all this transfer nonsense but for once I will take the initiative and strap myself into the driving seat!  WHY don''t we play Celtic at their own game on this one and forfeit this transfer saga until the Summer..and then make enquiries if we are still in the Premiership? He will only have 12 months left on his contract and if they are still way over in the asking price for a player who has still not played top flight football on a consistant basis put a derogatory offer on the table which will of course be like offering up a red rag to a bull as far as Lennon is concerned! A kind of take it or leave it offer well below their asking price!   Now...I know this is a bit of a gamble but according to ''Sky'' we are the only club to have tabled a bid for the player...me thinks not too much interest for the player at the current asking price! As Lennon is a cocky, arrogant little g*t and pride often comes before a fall it will make him even more determined to ridicule us off to the press (as a small club) and for him to dig his heels in even more  and deter interest from other clubs.  Then...along comes January and the player is still wearing the green and white of Celtic but only having six months left on his contract before the Bosman ruling kicks in. Now..Celtic will no longer have the upper hand on their prised asset whostill wants away. We can then tap the player up offer him substantially more in wages due to no transfer fee involved and agree morally to a contract to take for free in the Summer. This huge colossal Scottish Club stitched up like a Kipper and Lennon needing a Police escort out of Glasgow...LOL!!

Great plan , and could work as long as no one else in the football world realise how good Hooper is, and ignore him for another year.

Unfortunately, if someone like Hooper is available on a free. I would expect us to be at the back of his wish list. You can certainly make a case that the likes of Newcastle, Sunderland, Villa, Fulham, Everton, would all be interested in a Hooper for free, and be willing to pay more money.
