Official Norwich vs Spurs Match Thread

Undone by a simple counter attack, but that''s why Bale is worth £50m, great finish.

Lets hold on to a point though please lads!

Garrido was already on a yellow card. I think that if he pushed up to try and force Bale in any direction, then Bale would of gone down, possibly getting Garrido sent off.

It''s over, a well earned point at 1-1.

Shame to concede so close to the end, but the performance was there - we just need that elusive win, and we came so very close today

a good point

maybe if they tried to win games instead of nicking a goal and then hanging on for the rest of it city might actually pick up 3 points for a change

We certainly fade in second halves nowadays. Is it a fitness thing maybe?

Gutted to not win but a point in the bag isn''t to be sniffed at judging by other results.

It''s a natural reaction when defending a lead. Fatigue starts to get to you, and you can''t press as high as you want, so you start to sit deeper hoping that a good defensive shape will keep the opposition out.
I think it''s of great credit to Norwich that Spurs could only score on the counter with their best player going up against the one defender who couldn''t afford to take him out. If Garrido hadn''t been booked before hand, he would''ve clattered into Bale when he had just started to accelerate, stopping the counter dead.

No. At least it wasn''t today. In the first half, we pressed really high, forcing them to kick the ball long and disrupting their passing but I can''t think of any team that can press high for 60% of the match. Most teams that press high tend to dominate possession, the time on the ball allowing the to recuperate, we couldn''t keep the ball as well as Spurs, who also press high, meaning we had no time to recuperate, meaning fatigue set in and the pressing stopped.

Spurs are a good team and Bale world class so no shame in getting a draw.

Lets all just sit back and enjoy a good performance rather than the normal barrage of too negative criticsm

Hopefully buy a quality striker tomorrow and we will be fine

For those saying about us sitting deep. The reason was the same reason we pressed high in the first half - the wind was behind us. In the second it was behind Tottenham, so sitting deep stops them playing high balls over the top where we would just be beaten for pace

Yup, even on my slide-show excuse for a stream you could see we couldn''t keep the terrific level of pressure up.

Although Howson looked OK when he came on, I reckon one of the main reasons Hughton doesn''t sub earlier is because our present ones aren''t at the same level.

Let''s hope Kamara (& others) will provide viable options!

And with the two (or it is three?) signings tomorrow you will be even happier[:D] than you are tonight.
