Beware the "Drop of Poison"....

.......as characterised by The Sun:

Drop of poison

FOOTBALL LEAGUE clubs say increased parachute payments for relegated Premier League sides will give them an unfair advantage.

They are not insubstantial at the moment — £48million over four years.

That makes the performance of last season’s relegated clubs — Blackburn (13th), Bolton (20th) and Wolves (21st) — even more wretched.

Seems that money isn''t everything in the scramle for the ''holy grail'' of the Premiership.

Food for thought.

[/quote]Money has never been a guarantee of success, and the position of relegated teams is pretty much always the same, they have the negative momentum of a terrible season ending in relegation behind them, very few teams shake that off and come straight back up.Also if you go down with financial worries then you''re suddenly crippled by players still on Premiership wages, which can, in turn disaffect any new signings. All in all, a very difficult process to manage.
