Interesting, good to send the message that a good performance can get you a chance in the first team. I would assume that Holt isn''t 100%

Good to see Jacko starting ahead of Kane, thoroughly deserved. I''m sure Holt can come on in the second half and cause them more problems.

Shame to see Cabaye starting, was hoping he''d be kept on the bench!

No Cabaye (Starting anyway) Tiote, Ben Arfa and of course no Demba Ba. Newcastle don''t look as good as they have done recently.

Shame Holt isn''t starting, but chance for Jackson to do something in the league.

QPaRse holding Spuds.  Not sure if that is good or bad - if we can push on we might have an outside chance of catching Spuds, whilst 1 point isn''t enough for QPaRse from a home game.

Starting with Jackson might be a tactical move today.  See if his pace unsettles Coliccini; the latter''s head might be more likely to be absent if he isn''t involved in a physical ding dong that he would get with Holt.  Still feel Holt will come on after an hour though.

Home game shef? Harry had them set up for a point by packing the defense. They were like the away side throughout.

Some good defending though gives them some hope for survival.
Shame Bennett isn''t starting. Deserves a go
Completely agree; I thought he ran the show against Peterborough. Hopefully he''ll come on for more than 7 minutes

Agree with E.Bennett comments, but the problem is who do you drop?

Is it over-stating it a bit to say that this may be Jacko''s last chance to prove himself at this level?

Is it under-stating it a bit to say that the sooner we get in another decent striker the better?

You just don''t get that much time in the box, sadly for Hoolahan will always be far too one footed!

pilkingtons got space for days out on the left, problem is theres no one big enough in the box to get on the end of it, newcastle will win those headers every time with jackson in there hope holty is fit enough to come on at half time

(and hughton makes a change before the 79th minute)

Newcastle are very poor, and we''re making them look good. If we had a decent striker up top we''d have finished one or two of those moves.

Nevertheless, goalless at half time isn''t bad, with Holt still to come on I feel like this is ours for the taking, but we do look very weak up front despite Jacksons best efforts. If only a few of those passes from Tettey and Hoolahoop hadn''t been overhit...
