Pabs 0 Posted January 22, 2013 Just considering the following factors, I think we could be close to signing Graham, perhaps depending on Swansea signing their own new striker...1. His other ''options'' are dwindling, Newcastle signed Gouffran and Sunderland close with Zarate.2. We haven''t heard a response to the 5 million bid publicly, whereas Celtic rejected the bd for Hooper, nothing has been said about DG. But...crucially, Hughton has admitted a bid. Therefore, have they tentatively accepted, with the clause that they get a new or in ( kenwyne jones) 3. It''s all gone quiet, whilst the Hooper rumour dominates the news. We all know McNally likes to do quiet business where he can.Personally, would prefer graham for 5 million than hooper for 7 or 8 million...would love to get both mind!!! Mr Brownstone 0 Posted January 22, 2013 Laudrup said that ''nothing has changed'' about Graham since last week, presumably meaning that they''ve rejected our bid too but are classy enough not to do it in the press, unlike Lennon.Would definitely prefer Graham over Hooper at those prices too. Branston Pickle 3,598 Posted January 22, 2013 That''s interesting maths, but you could be right though - this time last week the world and his wife seemed interested in Graham but it seems to have all gone quiet....though it isn''t necessarily us who is closing in on him if anyone is, that is. SYG 0 Posted January 22, 2013 Let''s see if he is in their team tomorrow night! That will be the biggest clue
Evesham Canary 0 Posted January 22, 2013 I hope you are right. The Graham "issue" is a strange one. Swansea have not come out and said that they have rejected any offers - granted that Laudrup & Swansea generally act with a little more class than Lennon! You do sense that there are a couple of factors;1. Signing a replacement for Graham.2. The league cup semi final.I agree that Newcastle may be looking elsewhere - I see they are now the favourites to sign Darren Bent!!! Not so sure about Sunderland though. Also, why have we not yet announced the Camp signing? Someone on here raised the issue as to whether we were holding on to this announcement so that we could have one of those press conferences that we specialise in where there is a surprise signing!
