beelsie 0 Posted February 22, 2005 What was that all about? On TV yesterday we see our beloved Delia giving our football players families the low down on how important it is for our team players to stick to the correct diet when they eat at home. There was a dietician explaining in our entertainment lounge to the families, the importance of the diet being correct to supplement the superb fitness program, and Delia adding her two pennorth saying that it was important because it would enable our boys to play football for the full 90 min of the game! By the way, the body language from the nearest and dearest was incredulity personified!!!I would have thought that this info should have been well and truly digested before the season in the Prem started, talk of Nero fiddling while Rome burns. What are your thoughts Posters!!!!?
3pmkickoff 0 Posted February 22, 2005 What are you talking about, diet has been a big part of professional football for years and definitely an issue at the forefront during Worthy''s reign. Why would you think they''re only addressing it now
Peter 0 Posted February 22, 2005 This was just PR exercise, cast your mind back to season before last, same exercise was carried out. Other than Mullers when the get away from training ground the players don''t get stuck into pies and burgers, and have been following high carb regime for some time. drinks 0 Posted February 22, 2005 The whole thing looked a tad bizarre and just a little bit sexist. It seems to have been sponsored by McCains foods, judging from all the marketing material plastered around the place and the fact that all the recipes contained potatoes. Looks like McCains have enlisted Delia to fight the ‘evils’ of Dr. Atkins. And why were the players wives/girlfriends invited, cant the players cook for themselves?
