Phillip J Fry 0 Posted December 13, 2012 So I was trawling the internet again when I came across this:http://soccernet.espn.go.com/blog/_/name/tacticsandanalysis/id/544?cc=5739Interesting article from one of the writers from whoscored.com (That''s the site I get all my statistics from). The statistics are quite surprising, particularly when it comes to the amount of headed goals and set pieces we score. And I like the fact we''re currently the second best team in Europe when it comes to an unbeaten streak [;)]
ZLF 335 Posted December 14, 2012 I had seen the fact we have made more long "passes" per game this season than Stoke (with Newcastle being a long way ahead of anyone) with similar pass success rates - of all the prem teams we are more like stoke than we dare admit when it comes to passing and possession. I have been in denial and afraid to raise it on here. So why arent we stoke? The difference in style is highlighted by the fact that Stoke are top of the count chart and fouls per game chart and we are top of the card count one. We are firmly midtable at 9th on foul count.. Shockingly we are the only team with 2 players in the top ten foulers, IFLGH in 2nd and BJ 10th, accounting for 40% of the teams 191 fouls.
