TIL 1010 5,234 Posted December 17, 2012 It looks like East Midlands Trains have cottoned on that there will be problems with large numbers of fans wishing to travel by train from Norwich to Peterborough to the cup game on 5th January. They have promised to have extra carriages for the scheduled services and a decision will be made later this week whether to lay on an extra service. When i went to the box office and bought match tickets on the day of the sell out and followed it with a visit to Thorpe Station to buy train tickets the staff there had no idea that the match was even taking place and were wondering why there was suddenly such a high demand for this particular service.Well ten days later the penny appears to have dropped. EMT are trying to do what they can, people may have noticed they now have a 4 car unit on the 17:54 when City are at home on a Saturday, so they are aware of the football. Tim Allman 1 Posted December 17, 2012 http://twitter.com/EMTrains/status/277101425849413632 I did see this conversation on twitter so EMT will have been aware of this for quite some time.
Howson is now! 0 Posted December 17, 2012 I emailed EMT the day of the draw and they replied the next day saying they were already looking into getting extra carriages put on so they knew from at least the day after draw that it was something they needed to address and were already.
