BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted December 30, 2012 Just heard on Sky that he''s in talks with Chelsea on a release clause of £7m. It was only this morning when looking at the table that it registered with me how low Newcastle were now. That seems to have come about rapidly. The relegation candidates are stacking up, what with Villa on the slide too. Fulham have slipped a lot recently as well so that first day thrashing is being shown up for the freak result it clearly was. All nice to see and where will the Geordies get their goals from without Ba?
Baracouda 47 Posted December 30, 2012 I was thinking if one of the big clubs didn''t active the release clause...Hughton, should have a cheeky punt. Would at the very least, ruffle a few feathers.
Mark Fotheringham City Legend 0 Posted December 30, 2012 To the poster above, we have no chance of signing Demba Ba, his wages would be very high. We can not afford to splash out 7.5 million + wages on 1 player. We can not compete with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal who he has been linked with. You are deluded if you think we have any chance of signing him.
Swollen ankles 0 Posted December 30, 2012 Fotheringham learn what he means by ruffle feathers and you will see the poster was never implying we would have a chance getting him. Twonk

Baracouda 47 Posted December 30, 2012 yes very least ruffle a few feathers... at best it might tempt one of the top6/8 clubs watching the situation to decide to take him. Thus causing some serious problems for a rival mid-table club.Think we all know we can''t afford 70k+ wages that are being reported.
