Salopian 1 Posted December 31, 2012 I have no idea, but we shall know in a day or two, if foreign reports are correct that someone has had a medical at CR, and/or watched our last game from the stand. I am more concerned that we are discussing only one target. Even if rumours about Holt''s departures turn out to be false, our striker resources are too thin. He has had his first "serious", i.e. lasting more than one week, injury for some little time, and will have to be "nursed" for the next few important weeks. Morison is also injured, which leaves only Jackson. I like the last, but he is not a "loan striker" candidate. Otherwise we have only Vaughan, on a season loan and of doubtful fitness anyaway, and Martin, who sadly does not seem to have the mind for it, plus Kane. We surely can''t go through the important second half of the season "on a wing and a prayer" with one new striker, and a number with injury or other doubts attached to them. What if the new striker were to be injured playing in the African Cup, or in his first few games for us? It is surely too much of a risk?
