Syteanric 1 Posted January 1, 2013 From 10 games unbeaten could we now be looking at 10 straight defeats?Watching the game online and the big problem is midfield.... Tettey needs a rest it seems and howson just isn''t good enough for this level....The lack of support from midfield has cost us goals in the past and it really didn''t matter who was upfront, if he isn''t getting the ball he might as well go home. We could have had Messi up front today and he wouldn''t have got a sniff.Of course 2 strikers remain priority but in my opinion we need a ball winner, as well as someone with the engine to move the ball. Tettey needs a break, maybe fox coming back can do this.It isn''t time to panic as I trust the club to give Hughton the funds... But we must look at shortcomings or prepare for worse. ZLF 335 Posted January 1, 2013 I dont think we will go 10 games defeated or have no win for 10 games - its possible but I do think we are too good for that.however we do need cover for teh bj/tettey partnership which while doing well does still have its limitations (keeping possession for example) but is ahead of its alternatives. Maybe fox tettey or fox bj needs a run out against peterborough to see how that works??up front in the biggest headache. strikers 3 and 4 need to give us better options and quality than we currently have...attacking midfield 2-3 from pilks, wes, snod and elliott should be enough - but we do need to remove them earlier on their off days.
