Salopian 1 Posted January 3, 2013 and if Holt and Morison are still unfit, and assuming that we do not sign a new striker this week, how about playing the spanish way 4-6-0? I have in mind that Pilks is good with his head, and likes to get into the penalty area. Rather than put him down on the scoresheet as a lone striker, which will mean fairly brutal attention from central defenders, include him with Howson, Wes, Johno, Snoddy, Tettey, and perhaps Benno at some point. I am not sure how many British defences have encountered a Spanish type of attack. I suspect that if the six were highly mobile and changed positions regularly, it could cause confusion among defenders at something they have not trained for. You could perhaps do it only once, but we hope that Holt will be fully recovered soon, and also Morison. A new striker could also be here soon, we hope. Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted January 3, 2013 I would imagine it would also cause intense confusion amoungst the Norwich City players as well - with everyone getting in each others way. Spain can do it because most of the Spain squad grew up training with each other at Barcelona were ''Total Football'' principles were ingrained in their mentality. I doubt Norwich could coach that into the players in a week.
BroadstairsR 2,273 Posted January 3, 2013 Kane tries hard, seems a bit useful but a Premiership striker he aint yet. One day he could well make it, but not at our expense please. He''s learning his trade for f''s sake yet he was our number one choice striker in a Premiership game last time out. I would much, much prefer Jacko. To think that we may have to rely on this younster up front for a while yet. I just hope the cup week (which I now consider unimportant after our four defeats) gives GH or even Moro the chance to recover. Just as much as I hope we get a decent striker in asap.
