A mate of mine is a Brighton fan and went to Ipswich game today, all the talk amongst the Brighton fans pre kick off was that Liam Bridcutt would be signing for us pretty much straight after today''s game. They were surprised that he played today, not sure how true this is but thought I''d pass on what I heard, sure I''ll regret that very soon.

I''m from Brighton and have seen him play. Looks a quick energetic player who could be perfect for covering for yet try or Johnson if they get injured as oppose to putting howson in that role

I hardly ever post on here, I do have a couple of contacts who have supplied me with info before (nothing major, bunn signing being confirmed, harry kane loan deal being confirmed, and occasionally i get info on squads etc) 

This rumour has simply been passed to me by a friend who went to the ipswich - brighton game, as i said in my opening post, it is purely a rumour and could be nothing.  Only passing on what i''ve been told.

I dont mind these sort of rumours, our name is actually being mentioned on another teams forum so there is some smoke in this instance even if nothing happens or they have misread the situation. Anyway makes a pleasant change from the Morison/Bunn are crap threads.

It''s all good dude.. you seem to have some credibility in that case if you knew about those other deals too[Y] I''d certainly be happy if we managed to get him in, but Poyet was saying recently that he''s going to play hardball with clubs after his players so I''m hoping we don''t get screwed over! He does sound promising and it''d be great to have someone compete in that role because we have no one else at the moment to cover the out-and-out DM role

It was all over the Brighton forums that he was coming to City (in fact I remember talking to a Brighton fan on the train back from Crystal Palace who assured me it was a done deal) yet nothing happened until the summer.

True, but he still came here..the rumours were still correct in the sense that we obviously wanted him, but couldn''t get him as early as we wanted perhaps? There are others interested in him it seems so hopefully we get in ahead of them if we do want him
