Predictions v Man U?

Recommended Posts

Having seen Aston Villa screw up from a winning position, how do you realistically see us doing against a very good attacking side - Man U ?

If we lose by the odd goal, would that be acceptable, bearing in mind we conceded 5 against both Fulham and Liverpool and 4 against Chelsea? I think sometimes it is about damage limitations. Our defence has improved massively since those games thankfully, so I would hope we can keep the score down and make it hard for them. Equally it would be great to get a couple of goals, but that is obviously where we are struggling at the moment, so I can''t see us winning. A draw would be a fantastic result, but I think it is unlikely although not impossible.

Arsenal were a very good attacking side before we played them...

Set up, and play like we did against Arsenal and we can easily (well not easily, it''ll be hard work) win.

Those big score games, Fulham was just a non performance, before Bassong & Garrido were here I think as well? Liverpool we didn''t have Bassong, big miss. And even with him back against Chelsea, they were just fantastic, he probably wasn''t 100% fit, and back to them being fantastic they probably would have scored 3 or 4 against any side playing like that.

Also since that game the partnership of Johnson and Tettey has massively helped. And Whittaker is just as good if not better than R. Martin. If we were set up like this and playing like this I don''t think we''d have conceded 5 against Fulham and Liverpool. And i don''t think we''ll concede many against Man.U.

Did I hear the stat about Man U this season than in all their games (including Europe etc) they''ve been behind 10 times but come back to win 8 of those games.  Incredible, but there''s no doubt they have weaknesses at the back.

Very true that with Saturday''s back 4 and Johnson/Tettey in front of them we look completely different to the team against Fulham or Liverpool.

My heart says we can get something just like the Ars*nal.  My head expects a similar game, and outcome, to both times we played them last year.

A 97thminute winner from scholes?

Confident we will difficult to break down if we stick with the same formation. This is a win win game for us, one where you pencil in nil points for us at the start of the season then arrive in a run of form looking for a bonus point or three

Not optimistic but every reason to be hopeful

Looking forward to this one. Missed Stoke and Reading so havent been to Carrow Road for a league game since the Arsenal fixture.I''m predicting either a narrow win or narrow defeat. Depends how we start the game.

It won''t be pretty.

Given the stat about them winning from behind, ManUre are weak at the back, I have a feeling Hughton will look for us to sneak one and then defend whilst he cautiously ruminates for 70 odd minutes about whether it''s worth subbing a player that is not getting a look in.  Still any win against ManUre no matter how it comes will be good.  Don''t think many Norwich fans will have nails left though.

I think there will be...

lots of breathlessly excited, halfy-half scarf wearing plastics positively wetting themselves at the prospect of seeing the granny shagger.

Agree with Drunky, to be honest I can''t see them not scoring with a forwardline like that. They''re world class and confident...

Love to see us win, but with our present goal shortage I can''t see us winning. I hope that we can minimise the damage. Say 0-2.

Norwich 2-1 Man United - RVP to open the scoring and then a couple of late goals from Snodgrass and Holt

If you had asked this ? at the begining of the season or 5 games ago i would have said we would be lucky to hold them to 5 goals but with the form that we have been showing lately we could poss take 3 points from this game but would be very satisfied with a point my prediction 2-2

You know Chelsea sell half and half scarves Mungo?

Saw plenty of Chelsea fans wearing them when we played there...

More than i''ve even seen on the stall at Carrow Road...

Could that be because the Bridge is a far bigger plastic magnet than Carrow Road? At least we don''t have to resort to a laughable "singing section" yet to generate a bit of atmosphere (although the atmosphere is rubbish at Carrow Road compared to days gone by).

Man United have scored 29 goals this season we have scored 8. We''re going to have to score a lot of goals to win this one!

lake district canary - Difference being Man United arent arsenal. They''ve scored twice as much goals as Arsenal this season away from home and have more players that can hurt us

It depends on how much you want to build up the opposition and how much you taken note of our recent results.   Form suggests we will keep it tight and MU will always give you the odd chance, so I''ll stick to 1-0.
