August 64 0 Posted February 28, 2005 St John, comsider yourself excommunicated! Worthy is our King. After all that he has done for us the type of "support" that you offer is unwarranted, unwanted, undeserved, unsatisfactory, un.....whatevered, INAPPROPRIATE. Norwich til we die (and beyond)....Auigust
Pyro Pete 2,353 Posted February 28, 2005 I just got back from Carrow Road and saw that Worthington interview on Sky Sports News too. He hit the nail on the head when he said Norwich stopped doing all the things that got them into a 2-0 lead once the second goal went in. The trouble is Norwich have been like that all season and Worthy should have done something about it.We just can''t maintain a high level of performance for 90 minutes. Simple as that. Suddenly at 2-0 up we stopped pressing in midfield, backed off, let Man City play, and voila, it''s 2-2. This is nothing new. City need to learn how to control games and hold a lead. Relying on scoring last minute winners so we don''t have long to hold on is no way to go through a season.

He did the biz in the build up, did the biz getting the players on to the pitch, they delivered 1 - 20 then lost the plot. Players win and lose matches. Lay off super Nige. Dean Coneys boots 1,531 Posted March 1, 2005 Look you cannot make silk purses out of sows ears! Yes the team has struggled....BECAUSE we are not a RICH ESTABLISHED prem club. So do not blame Worthy or the players- they have given it everything (by and large) What is more they have strengthened well. BUT we have been unlucky with injuries and are still several players short of the required quality. Lets enjoy the rest of the season- hope for the best- get behind the team and accept they have busted a gut -come what may.

Its his job to organise the team and get them doing what he wants and could have sorted it out at half time, he knew it was a must-win game and should have told them to go for it, so what did they do??? crap 2nd half apart from some decent spells of pressure, and then just sat back and defended deep for last 10-15 mins which ultimately sealed our fate. Worthy has got to sort this out, its costing us dearly and looks like its gonna cost us our place in the prem, and its his job to ensure the problem gets fixed. Pudd 1 Posted March 1, 2005 Some people have very short memories! And perhaps if Jonson hadn''t been so ''passionate'' (something people on this board are desparate to see) we would have still won the game. Plus, it''s not all about Norwich - perhaps Man City improved their game over the ninty minutes.
ZLF 335 Posted March 1, 2005 I agree with you Pyro Pete - we had won the game by playing a high pressure midfield game high up the pitch and then abandon it and let Citeh back in - from worthys comments HE did not want that to happen so its becomes the players fault.O - and the same old culprits in defence...OTBC
Jim Smith 2,610 Posted March 1, 2005 Sorry but all season Worthy has been coming out after games and saying the obvious but then nothing changes in the next game. The same flaws have been abundantly obvious all season in the defence and the midfield but he has failed to sort them out. The only solution he seems to have to whatever problem that crops up is to buy a striker!Last night was tactical naivity beyond belief. Two nil up we should have killed the game. He should have been out there telling them to calm down and to knock the ball around and take the sting out of the game but they didn''t. Worthy has and does do a lot of things right but he is a very slow learner. The fans always seem to be well aware of our problems a few weeks before Worthy and this season that has cost us big time. That worries me imensely. On the plus side however i would just like to say that Ashtons display last night was the best i have seen from a Norwich striker for many years.
