NWC 315 Posted November 24, 2012 Recently got back so thought I would share my thoughts from today:Basically we deserved the point, and could have had all 3 - don''t believe any media that tell you otherwise.First half we were a bit poor really - 2 mistakes from Garrido in the first 60 seconds and then another from whitaker which lead to their goal. We were then over run a bit, especially in midfield and at times had Big JR to thank for keeping the score down to one. Peinar was running the show at times, but he was innefective later on.Second half was a different story. We were quicker to the ball and had more bite about us. Tettey and BJ got more ball. We created chances - enough to win the game, but taking the game as a whole a draw was a fair result. Everton seem to run out of puff, and it was encouraging to see us as the physically bigger and better team.Special mentions to Bassong - (fantastic performance at the back and got the deserved goal) - Tettey (esp. in the second half, always seemed to be able to break the blue attack and create one of our own - what a find!) and of course Big JR in goal (haven''t heard how bad the injury is yet, but fingers crossed!). Also special mention to the travelling yellow army who outsung the home support fopr the majority of the match - a lot of people around me were saying this as well.It has to be said, the ref had a shocker. Not interested in letting the game flow, just wanted to pick up both sides for petty infringements. Poor. All in all a deserved point and a decent second half performance. There were some areas of concern, but only want to concentrate on the positives. We continue to hold our own in this league, Everton are very disapointed not to beat us which shows what a good result this is.

ricardo 8,034 Posted November 24, 2012 Thanks NWC, it pretty much confirms what I saw on the stream. The game was played at quite a pace and it was Everton who started to flag before we did. Thats now three away games where we have gone a goal down and come back late for a point.
Herman 11,136 Posted November 24, 2012 Cheers pal. I didn''t see or hear any of the game so your report is very helpful. As i said before i am happy with a point against a team like Everton. Well done Hughton and the boys.
Gingerpele 0 Posted November 24, 2012 Yeah, good report there.
Aggy 944 Posted November 24, 2012 Yep, fair report. First half they looked better players than us. Jelavic dropped deep and we didn''t follow him, and Snodgrass and Whittaker seemed to be lacking any sort of communication as to how to pick up Baines and Oviedo, and Pienaar was given far too much room far too often. At half time I was fairly resigned to a loss but in a sort of "they are quite simply a better side than us" sort of way, and I wasn''t too downbeat. But that makes the second half even more impressive. We seemed more up for it and we looked like a proper Premiership side!
Shankslad 0 Posted November 25, 2012 Spent the whole weekend in the company of Evertonians, got in touch with some of old mates back home and we went to the match together which involves gathering together in an Evertonian boozer on Walton Road a few hours before and for several hours after! They were reservedly confident of a win before the match but complimentary about the draw after saying they had the first half in the pocket but lost the plot in the second and some thought them fortunate not to have lost it. Some great banter and craic after the game but of course I never metioned LFC and spoke only of Norwich. So we''ll meet up again in Norwich when Everton come to play - incidentally they seem to prefer John Ruddy as a keeper over Tim Howard, their opinion is that Ruddy is much more a safer keeper. Aggy 944 Posted November 26, 2012 Shankslad, there was a little thought of mine whilst watching the majority of Goodison give Ruddy a standing ovation that they may well be eyeing him up as a replacement for Howard (he must be getting on a bit now)!
