Whittaker?

Hi all,

Is there any news on Whittaker? It seems to me like he could be a key element of resolving our defensive woes. With him being a right back it would allow Russell Martin to slot back into the centre along with Bassong, I think Garrido, Bassong, Martin Whittaker could be a decent back four?

Also, sounds like he''s not shy of having a go on goal, 11 goals for Rangers 09-10 season?

I was one of the few people pleased with his signing. Hopefully he doesn''t turn out to be the new Steven Smith though haha, the start of his NCFC career is mirroring his thus far.

I''d like to see the back 4 you suggested also, IMO it''s probably our strongest.

What actually is his injury again? All I can remember is that he picked it up during the Celitc game.

"an ankle injury" was what BBC sport listed it as with Hughton saying "it''s certainly going to keep him out for a good few weeks".

I remember seeing him in Chapelfield a couple weeks aferward with a protective boot on it but that must have been the middle of August, it''s nearly 2 months later now.
