Jim Smith 2,641 Posted October 16, 2012 Having just perused the online ticketing site and looked at what seats are available for the Spurs game it appears our season ticket holders are sending Mr McNally a clear message about his ticket prices. I am not sad enough to count the number of seats which are unavailable but looking at the plan I would estimate that about 10% of season ticket holders appear to have booked their seats.Unless the Norfolk based spurs fans or the casual fans jump in and save him then the crowd looks likely to be an embarrassment for this one. Hopefully the club will get the message.
nutty nigel 7,962 Posted October 16, 2012 You may be right Jim. But I don''t book my seat for games like this. I buy tickets later on when I can get more together and take the grandkids. I think there are at least as many ST holders do this as apply for their seat. But of course there''s no way of knowing. IMO the only things that would encourage ST holders to buy early would be a discount or fear of sell out.
hogesar 10,935 Posted October 16, 2012 Well im a ST holder and im still unsure about going. If it was £20 I wouldn''t have given it a second thought, i''d be there. £10 doesn''t sound like a massive amount in the grand scheme of things but like NN said - quite a few wouldnt have booked their tickets yet. kingsway 108 Posted October 16, 2012 Agree completely with the opening message to this thread from Jim Smith! £30 for adults is a ridiculous price for a cup game that isn''t even a quarter final and will almost certainly feature 2 understrength teams!! Like Jim Smith says the only way Mcnasty and CO will get the message that the price is too high is by fans voting with their feet and not going! I''m not going and I normally wouldn''t consider not going to a home game but I''m not paying £30 notes cause it is too much. £15 for adults would of been the fairest price although I would have paid £20 but no more! Well done to everyone who is taking a similar stance to myself and hopfully the board will the error of their ways!
marvin the martian 0 Posted October 16, 2012 "Is travel to Reading cheaper Marvin"No, but I need to tick off the Madejski and would rather use the money to go an important league match

I''m going to go and I''ll probably take the boy, does this suddenly make me some sort of outcast? How many games are we from Wembley? If by some stroke of spawniness we made it, I expect there''d be no shortage of people willing to pay whatever to see us then.

kingsway 108 Posted October 17, 2012 "Timmah" I do understand a lot of the sentiment regarding the prices, even if I do feel that a lot of assumptions are being made about the teams that will line up etc. However, I think praising fans for not going is taking it a bit far. I''m going to go and I''ll probably take the boy, does this suddenly make me some sort of outcast? How many games are we from Wembley? If by some stroke of spawniness we made it, I expect there''d be no shortage of people willing to pay whatever to see us then. Kingsway I think its almost certain Norwich and Spurs will have understrength sides, particularly Spurs who are in the Europa League with all its crazy amount of games! I don''t think praising fans for not going is taking it a bit far at all, cause the prices are too high for what the game is likely to be, two understrength teams not that bothered if they get through or not and its not even a quarter final! Its a free Country and if you want to go to the game and have no problem with paying the overpriced £30 to watch the game then thats your perogative but like I said in my 1st post, the only way Mcnasty will see the prices are too high are if the crowd is low which I think it probably will be. A big crowd will justify the prices but I''m confident this will not be the case! I''d have no problem with £30 if the game was a semi final but the 4th round of a cup many teams including us haven''t taken seriously for years is just blatant profiteering! The fairest price for this game would have been the same as the pre season friendlies against Champions League Ajax and Monchengladbach, £15 for adults. Again like I said before I''d of stretched as far as £20 for adults but no more. At these prices we''d of had 20-26,000, probably more likely to be a near sell out. I predict less than 15,000 will be going at £30 an adult head! I''ve probably been more hardcore than most other Norwich fans (and NO I''m not making out I''m a better fan than anyone, just stating facts) in the last 40 odd years having been to hundreds of games, over 100 different grounds in Britain and abroad watching the Canaries etc, but there comes a time when I feel I have to stand up for what is right and won''t attend a game out of habit like a lemming which is what Mcnasty obviously thinks people like myself will always do. The price for this game is the tipping point for me, so I''m not going to attend unless the club realise the error of their ways and reduce the prices to £20! For the record I hope we win but I also hope we have a poor crowd for the above reasons and hope you enjoy your evening with more East Anglian based plastic TV Spurs fans present than Norwich fans! Mello Yello 2,585 Posted October 17, 2012 Well, I''ve got a ticket for £30 sheets to attend the Spuds Cup game........I''m a season ticket holder and do think £30 sheets is a tad ''pricey''. Although, I do think it will be competitive game - and put us one step closer to Wembley.....that''s if we put our best 11 out......Does anyone know who our actual ''best 11'' are yet? Here''s hoping.....
Timmah 0 Posted October 17, 2012 So £30 for a semi final is ok, a stage of the competition that the likes of Arsenal and Man U have still played under strength line ups? The fact that the "big" clubs are too "big" to take the only major trophy we have ever won seriously is one thing but I think we''ll be taking it a bit more seriously earlier than the final. As I''ve said all along, if you don''t want to go, don''t. If you can''t afford it, sorry, that''s life. But, but, don''t criticise people for going to watch the team they support. Nobody was criticising me for stuffing £52 into the Man U coffers last season so why is me putting an additional £30 into OUR club such a heinous crime?I appreciate where the criticism comes from, I understand the reluctance to pay it, but if I take my kids it''ll cost me no more than a trip to the cinema and a damn sight less than if I took them to Yarmouth Pleasure Beach for an afternoon, I''m pretty sure I know where I''d rather deposit my hard-earned. Morge 0 Posted October 17, 2012 Question for you all. If we were still in the championship would it be right to charge £30 for a cup game against spurs? of course it would and all of you would go (including myself). I feel sorry for the club. I hate to say it but the price is right, at the end the day they are one of the best teams in the country, wether or not they put out their best side or not is another matter. Unfortunately I cant make the game as am going to be out of the country, but I would definitely go if I could as the thing I have most wanted to see in my relatively short Norwich supporter career is a decent cup run (being born two years after 1985 still bugs me). flecky76 0 Posted October 18, 2012 Will we put our best 11 out?Err, well let''s look at the facts. It''s on a Wednesday night, and we have an Important trip to Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime just 2.5 days after the Capital One Cup game v Spuds.Anyone who thinks it''ll be a strong team out is deluded. It''ll be Elliott Ward, Chrissy Martin et al. Basically nobody who Hughton wants to start on Saturday. The club are asking for £30 notes. For that, combined with the reasons above, im out.
