crabbycanary 2 Posted November 10, 2012 and that was from two performances that will not be amongst out top 10 of the season. C''mon guys, it isn''t all bad. If we had played like that and got stuffed, then I would be seriously worried, but add that onto the Arse and Villa games, then we are on a nice (points earning) run. If we have some more bursts of 8/12 points in the season, then we will be ok. We cannot expect top draw performances every week, and when we are off our game and still picking up points and clean sheets then things aint all depressing are they? Crafty Canary 547 Posted November 10, 2012 Spot on! The signing of one , preferably two. good goalscorers in January and we''ll be fine. Remember we have only conceded 4 goals in 8 of the games this season.
K Lo 246 Posted November 10, 2012 I agree. Our last 4 league games reads:Home: 2 WinsAway: 2 Draws. That''s mid-table performace, or even higher but we know we''re unlikely to get much against the top 6 and, arguably, we should have had wins where we had draws so there is still work to do. Aggy 944 Posted November 10, 2012 After being slightly grumpy about the Villa game, I''ve surprised myself by actually being fairly happy with a point today. Maybe it was the clean sheet. I think at Villa we were also against 10 men for a long time, dominated and juts couldn''t convert, it was a completely different game. Today we set up with a game plan to get an away point, we executed that gameplan successfully and came away with said away point. Had we dominated the game and had loads of chances I may be saying different, but it feels like a point earned today rather than 2 points lost (which I still feel Villa away was). ricardo 8,034 Posted November 10, 2012 Ricky is quite happy with the point today. It could easily have been 3 if Holty had been a bit sharper but all in all it''s another good weekend. Survival is everything this season and if goalscoring takes a back seat to achieve that goal I won''t be complaining.I''ll take a 0-0 next week as well. K Lo 246 Posted November 10, 2012 That point at Villa Park is looking a bit more respecatble noe with them currently being 2-0 up at Man U.Man U not only look like Preston North End today but they''re playing like them too!
Redders Right Foot 22 Posted November 10, 2012 I''ll take a 2-2 for utd right now v villa, if utd can come back we won''t drop a further spot.also RVP is my fantasy captain so 2 goals would help me a great deal there too ;)

ZLF 335 Posted November 10, 2012 a great result for us, if not a great performance.Real positive is that a fairly free scoring Reading looked less likely to score as the game went on, the back four is looking increasing secure and its great to finally get that clean sheet away off our backs. In addition Tettey continues to looks fab in midfield, energy and capability on the ball.Further positives were the continued urgings from wes and that we created 4 good chances for grant to win the game for us in the last 30 mins, pilkington with 3 quality crosses in particular was a highlight (yes he did drift out but he was the one midfielder who looked like giving us the opening for the goal)What were the negatives? We did sit too deep and the subs were a good 10 mins too late - probably more; the right players but neither had time to have an impact.Poor finishing again, grant had two excellent and a further two possible efforts but failed to really stretch the keeper and overall he looked lacking in confidence and a shadow of the striker he can be. He is our best striker but apart from the games against the big teams he is still not firing as well as last season. We were too slow on the ball, if we dont have pace we can still move the ball quickly; BJ & snodgrass in particular took so many touches, allowing reading to get back into position. Generally our passing and touch was poor. However this has been a good day for city overall, the bottom three have failed to win, we have directly lowered the morale of reading as they would have seen this as a must win game and as the game went on only we were going to win. Yobocop 1,444 Posted November 10, 2012 you have to take a point away from home in the premiership regardless of the opposition! we''re still at arms length of the relegation zone which is the main thing
