Redders Right Foot

Taking a page out of HB's - Matt, book?

Recommended Posts

It''s quite obvious that this forum is going to be divided for some time, and it causes childish arguments and insults coming from both sides.

so why don''t OPs just put - positive/negative on each thread title. people who are tired of people moaning/worrying will then know to not read it, and people tired of others being overly positive when they see no light nearing the end of the tunnel can stay away from those threads as well?

of course you''re going to have people who will comment on them in a somewhat rude manner anyway, as I''m willing to bet this will, too. but it is just a suggestion.

Because the sort of people who read a post, get two lines (or less in) and realise it''s moaning/overly positive/against their opinion, but continue to read it regardless purely just to start a slanging match aren''t going to stop doing that just because the title warns them about it. If people really didn''t want to read a post on a particular topic, they would simply stop reading it as soon as they realised the post was on that topic, close the thread, and not check back again.

Some of the best threads come out of people discussing opposing views.  Sure, it gets overheated at times, but that is because people care.   We all see things differently - there is no wrong or right about it.   If you see something you agree with or disagree with you say so. Otherwise whats the point in a forum?    One person sees positives, another sees negatives.   In most instances the the truth probably lies somewhere between the two.    Its all part of life''s rich pageant.

Perhaps BBC news & Sky News should do the same - Warn viewers if the news is positive or negative before they tune in.

If we all ignored reality and the 90% negative news, we could all live in a fluffy happy world! I like that idea

I think it''s a really good idea. It''ll save all the bother of discussing anything. We could even make this a forum of blogs where people can only comment with those insightful views like "Well said" "I agree" and "^^This^^".[Y]

Taking things way to literal, and should of expected it, yes, obviously the best posts are the ones with GOOD and THOUGHTFUL comments, but many on this site don''t do either of those things, and honestly think the ''troilling'' on this thread shows it.
