Villa, in disarray, are looking for a new manager.

Paul Lambert is highly regarded in footballing circles and ripe for picking from ''little'' Norwich.

The two (Lambo & Faulkner) reportedly co-incide with each other in a Birmingham hospital, whilst visiting an employee/friend. Witness = reliable.

What happened next? Who knows?  Whilst nothing was probably discussed of importance in the ward in front of Petrov, any number of furtive meetings could have evolved after that:

(Exeunt. Stage left. Deep in conversation.)

"Come to dinner at mine tonight Paul in my Sutton Colfield mansion? The wife''s preparing hagiss and will even deep-fry you a couple of Mars bars for your sweet if you fancy. I''ve a nice bottle or two of single-malt in the cocktail cabinet as well."

"Och aye, thet''s greeyt," Mr. Faulkner, "Yu''ll hev to dirict me over that feckin'' Macaroni Junction fist though. That''s crep."

Norwich get an approach from Faulkner regarding their manager and fail to fend it off due to a well researched legality.

Lambert becomes Aston Villa manager in rapid time.

Fishy?

I have lost track a bit, but believe that the matter is going to arbitration?

If so, somebody might have to tell porkies, a dangerous route. I hope McNally is in his best sleuth-like mode. He has lost slight face over this whole business so far, so I want to see the cornered rat bit from him. Keep yer teeth in McN.

I care about this a lot. I care about our Club not being short-changed and also about every pound that is in the Club''s coffers. We were up-front in our dealings with Birmingham and paid the price accordingly. I want us to get a fair whack from Aston Villa too. Does anybody believe this whole business was done fairly?

One million might do it Randy, you know you have it.

There are two issues that are in danger of getting confused. We don''t seem to have claimed that Villa tapped Lambert up, and I can''t see that this latest story would change that. It would be very hard for NCFC to prove this hospital meeting (assuming etc...) was anything but a coincidence. Especially, as Bethnal has pointed out, since OGS appeared very much to be first on Villa''s list when the later vacancy came up. The tribunal, from all one has read,  is about whether we did or did not break the terms of Lambert''s contract and so are not entitled to compensation.
pete_norw, what hospital does your Nephew work at and how would he know what Faulkner looks like?
You can''t get out of it that easily Pongo.

The more obscure the hospital, the fishier it gets.

Also: our ear-wigging technician would have surely heard the two being introduced to each other as well.

One million will do Randy (+  costs.)

Sorry folks this is a bit of a cat and mouse now, I wish I had kept my trap shut, I''m not going to reveal any Hospital Juat ask any Villa fan they were pouring in every day ao the week, My Nephew would go to any one of the five Hospitals in Birmingham or surrounding area, If a Technician had been needed elsewhere they move about if needed, have a look at the NHS web
So your Nephew works at "any one of the five Hospitals in Birmingham or surrounding area". Then he didn''t work at the hospital which Petrov is being treated at, as that''s in London.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2123857/Stiliyan-Petrov-begin-leukaemia-treatment.html" Stiliyan Petrov will begin treatment at a London hospital on Monday after being diagnosed with acute leukaemia. ..................   ''I don''t think he''s down there (in London) long term, only for a couple of days at a time,'' McLeish told Sky Sports.

''But we believe he''s got the best possible chance of help at the moment, with the specialists he''s got now. "
