4-2-3-1

I think it gives us defensive stability through the two holding midfielders and width in the two wingers. I would play Ayala with Bassong if he wasn''t out on loan or Whittaker at right back if he was fit with Russell Martin at centre back.

E Bennett       Hoolahan           Snodgrass

                         Holt

Interesting.

But I don''t like Holt on his own up front. He needs a foil. Someone to play with if you pardon the expression. Too often he''s outside the box with the ball and he needs to play to someone in the box but he''s not there to pass to himself. Muddled but I hope you get what I mean.

Why would you pick Snodgrass ahead of Pilkington?

I find that decision very odd. Partly since his best position is RW, despite Norwich fans seemingly knowing better than him, and all his previous managers/coaches. And also because Pilkington is just better, faster, gets past the FB easier and quicker, better crosser, better set pieces (Snodgrass is supposed to be good, but not from what i''ve seen so far), proven PL goal scorer.

And don''t even get me started on super BJ.

This formation does work. But I think if we''ve got Bennett and Pilks fit a straight 4-4-2 works just as well. I''d actually like to see 4-4-2 with Holt and Moro up front, attack down the flanks, Holt and Moro need to stay in the box as much as possible and just cross the ball. They are both great in the air in the box, and Holt good with his feet in the box (morison isn''t, bar two very good finishes with his feet last season the rest of his goals I can remember were headers, and he fluffs far too many decent opportunities with his feet, we like signing strikers who can''t shoot)

I can understand the logic of playing Snodgrass in preference to Pilkington. Whilst Pilkington is faster than Snodgrass he does seem to fade after 30 mins. Twice this season I have had to look round to see if Pilkington was still on the pitch. If he could feature for the full ninety minutes he would be awesome. Perhaps 45 minutes each is the answer.
