anonamoose 4 Posted October 9, 2012 Lets pretend Lambert had stayed and rebuilt the squad a little over the summer.Having had the same start, would we all be panicking as much about our run of form and being in the relegation zone?Would we have had a better start? Or would we have still suffered from the beginnings of second season syndrome?Obviously this is all just guess work, so just a bit of fun really!
Two penneth 0 Posted October 9, 2012 Yes I believe we would. The chinks in Lambert''s armour had already appeared before the season''s end with some poor performances, the seeds of doubt were sown then. He would have bought different players perhaps in the summer but whether they would have been greater quality given financial restraints, who knows. And one other thing, Lambert was not as patient with negative supporters as Hughton appears to be, that would also alienate many people.
paul moy 235 Posted October 9, 2012 I really don''t think we''d be in this position with Lambert as he is not as cautious as Hughton and clearly knows what he is doing, but if we were I''d being weighing up the performances and whether we had given ourselves the best chance to win each game. I''d also bear in mind that Lambert had nothing to prove here as we''ve seen his achievements, which are no fluke, so I''m sure we''d all stick with him. Hughton has not given us the best chance to win every game, maybe because he believes it''s better not to lose than try to win. He needs to change his mindset and quickly. For instance, if we had lost to QPR and beaten West Ham or vice versa we''d be a point better off. Fear will relegate us.
Stig 0 Posted October 9, 2012 I honestly believe we would have rounded off QPR, West Ham and snatched a draw or victory from Newcastle if THIS squad had of been the squad Lambert worked with. However, going by the signings he made at Villa... I think results would have been near enough the same.

However, he''s still got a win and 5 points to our measly 3.Now what if we got Owen Coyle ..... sacked for ''only'' 3 wins in 10 matches http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19869286
Yellowbeagle 0 Posted October 9, 2012 Realistically i think we would have beaten QPR and West Ham and in all likelyhood i think we might well have lost the other games that we have although i think we would have lost them by a closer margin and with more competitive pressing performances. Matt Morriss 69 Posted October 9, 2012 Not a chance, results would have been similar except we would have beaten QPR and West Ham and possibly Spurs and be on 9 or 12 points.
RvWs 4 year contract 0 Posted October 9, 2012 It sounds as though certain people have written CH off already and no matter what he does will always be seen in a negative light....
TheRock 192 Posted October 9, 2012 We would have breezed QPR and West Ham. Possibly beaten Spurs. And Fulham and Chelsea could have been completely different games. Oh and Turner would be as good as Carles Puyol if we still had PL [:D]
