Bill 1,788 Posted October 8, 2012 You miss the point. Prices can be adjusted in the future. I doubt anyone will be put off in the future by previous prices. A new generation will spring up stimulated by price as 2005-09 or league position/success 2009/12 Perhaps you might care to question where this generation of 40/50 somethings now at Carrow Road came from, and what put them off previously
Graham Humphrey 13 Posted October 8, 2012 Although I totally take the point that football is a luxury (and it undoubtedly is) and that if there is a luxury you can''t afford you have to go without, there surely must come a point where you need to draw the line with that thinking. If they charge £50? £60? Even £100? Well, it''s £100 but if you can''t afford it, tough, deal with it... would it not cross people''s minds that that would be utterly ridiculous? But if the question is how come we now we now fill out a 26,700-seat stadium whereas when we were finishing third in the PL in the Chase era we often had gates several thousand short of the 21,000-capacity (16,286 at home to Man City, for example) one of the main answers is that the post-Chase regime of Smith and Jones and Doncaster and Cullen had a policy of affordable family football aimed at attracting new fans, holding on to existing fans AND keeping the next generations coming in. You believe there is no danger of losing a generation. I - and others - think there is.

nutty nigel 7,962 Posted October 8, 2012 While I agree these prices are steep they are what they are because people pay it. McNally sets the prices to maximise income which is his job. If they struggle to sell out for Stoke he will be forced to think again. With regards to future generations of fans under 12 tickets for the Stoke game are £13 and for the Spurs game £5. Mello Yello 2,585 Posted October 8, 2012 I do eagerly await the home game against Stoke......It will be worth every exhorbitent penny, just to witness both the keepers taking frequent turns in scraping the ice of the matchball - and sympathetically administering first-aid for altitude sickness to that poor leather clad sphere......Before that unfortunate ball is then once again brutally launched into the ionosphere, till its imminent re-entry after 4 orbits around earth just before half-time......Much the same for the second-half.......Unless it comes down somewhere in the Pacific......or Whitlingham Lake.....or in the Wensum opposite the Waterfront live music venue.....Ball boys are not required for this game.....unless they own a coracle or a canoe and a paddle. Grade A game.......and so it bleedin'' should be! I''ll be able to read my complementary footy programme front to back, whilst the matchball is rubbing shoulders with the space station..... I''ll bet if they were a top six side this''d be a Grade A + game at a top price of £60 !!It is stands it''d cost me £53 to buy my seat for the Stoke game on a casual basis.Ridiculous. Players wages caps need to come into effect across all the big leagues globally, limits on agents fees, bonus caps for owners/high level staff. I don''t see why I should subsidise these costs, and I won''t. Ever. I''d rather pay a few quid and go to watch my home town team Dereham play tbh, it''s exactly the same sport! Bill 1,788 Posted October 9, 2012 "Talk about getting every penny out of the supporters incase of relegation". Thta is absolute nonsense Or are you going to tell us next that if we were in the top five with a chance of Champions League football next season the prices would be far far lower ? You cannot set a price based soley on what you want, in fact almost not at all. The price is what the market will bear. That market currently is loads of newbies who will pay that price. Yes, it is galling to those who have been used to far lower prices. Prices paid when the game was about watching your club. It is not that now. It is being paid of a wider ''experience''. Take a look around you at those over 30 and ask yourself where were they after we were relegated in 2005 ?

It is expensive, but then I know that and choose to spend my money that way. nutty nigel 7,962 Posted October 9, 2012 I''m gutted to read that some of them aren''t coming. You believe there is no danger of losing a generation. I - and others - think there is. In fact during our best ever season in 92/93 when we finished 3rd we had a League crowd as low as 12,000 (against Southampton I think?) which seems unbelieveable now considering we can get more than that in the League cup (though I''ve my doubts if we''ll get that much against Spurs given the extortionate prices!) I agree with all the points your making Purple Canary! CategoryA against the team (Stoke) most fans depise because of their style of football is ludicrous! Myself for the 1st time since being a student having to watch every penny, I''ve been priced out of the Spurs cup game because I cannot justify spending £30 to watch Norwich fringe players V Spurs reserves, a game that should be £15 for adults or if the club were stretching it £20 for adults! I think Mcnastys now starting to overstretch prices too far and the Spurs game will see a crowd below 15,000 and nearer to 12,000 when realistic pricing would of seen 20,000+. I feel I''m a good indicator of ticket prices cause I''ve been a competitive 1st team home game diehard for years and I never thought that day would come when I would say NO I''m not paying that price and therefore have a night in with Radio Norfolk. I''d also say that I bet in my years supporting the club I''ve been more hardcore than the majority and thats honestly not getting into the childish "I''m a better fan than you" arguement! For instance, I remember going to all the old Simod cup, Zenith Data systems and Full members cup games in the late 80''s and early 90''s when some of the crowds were under 5000! I honestly hope the Spurs game sees a poor crowd cause then Mcnasty will see the error of his ways!
Southwestcanary 0 Posted October 9, 2012 Although I can understand that the club are maximising their income, somewhere along the line there are fans being priced out of supporting their club! Living in Bristol a home game is a very expensive luxury and we tend to do more away games where possible. We made the trip up for the Liverpool game and for me and my boys 16 and 11 the tickets cost £114?? How can I justify that cost on top of hotel, club shop and petrol costs aswell? To top it all the team were shocking and we were totally deflated by the performance. We will be back but It won''t be for a while. Away trips only for a while!
