Mr Brownstone 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Why would they hear anything? They''re only there on matchdays, they''d be no more like to hear anything than the bar staff.

Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 997 Posted August 25, 2012 The senior stewarding staff are at the ground at the same time as the players arrive and they talk to the manager and the players, not saying there is anything in this, but there is a lot more interaction between the senior stewarding staff and the manager/players than people realise..... Bws Cat 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Jesus Christ, can you please get your grammar and punctuation correct? It''s like reading a note from a five year old.On topic, how does a steward know this? I always presumed they just dealt with the crowds, not act as personal escorts for players and managers. Also how could they overhear something like that? I think the agents/managers would talk in private...
Herman 9,585 Posted August 25, 2012 Calm down guys,he''s only passing on some info.It might or might not be true, but head stewards may hear things.

Mr Brownstone 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Rhodes played, and scored, for Huddersfield today. Unlikely that he''d have played if we''d agreed a fee I would have thought.

I heard Hughton was dishing out commemorative "Rhodes to Glory... 6mill bid lodged" to all of the matchday employees, so I''m guessing there is some legitimacy in the story ..... CanaryOne 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Grayson has reaffirmed his wish to keep hold of Rhodes and the Chairman has said they will not sell to another Championship club , but after his two goals in a week it looks like they wont be budging on the £8million price tag .Funnily enough there was a post on Twtd this morning claiming Rhodes had been spotted in Norwich , but that surely has to be crap , pay the £8 million and he could be ours , he is starting to look like he may be the real deal and worth the money . Gnasher 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Whilst I doubt that we have, I have worked in the finance dept. a couple of times and the head steward works in the same office space as them so it is possible he''d of heard something. Not interested in Rhodes personally. PhatCanary 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Am i the only Norwich fan who thinks he won''t come here,so many seem certain of it but i think as usual a name is thrown into the pot and so many cling onto it for dear life,no doubt he seems to be growing into the player he''s been built up to be but i just get the feeling he''s not heading our way. Mr Brownstone 0 Posted August 25, 2012
Don''t post to often, but have to admit that I think Rhodes would be a great signing.
He certainly knows where the back of the net is, but he still represents a bit of a gamble for £8m as he''s untested at this level. kingsway 94 Posted August 25, 2012 The stewards and even more so the head steward who I believe is that little grey haired guy call John will more often than not get closer to players and management than most of us mere mortals will so its possible! Them florescent jackets can get you far! As for Rhodes, he keeps scoring goals despite many saying hes limited much in the same manner Holt has in the last 3 seasons, so I rate him! It would also be great to have a S*um youth product who they should have never let go, doing the business for us and helping us to stay in the Premiership for another season! Chip20 68 Posted August 25, 2012 To those who think the sun shines out of this guy''s rumble seat; why have no other lower/mid-table Premiership outfits snapped him up yet? Surely many of them could spare more for a striker than we can any any team would be interested in a player who could guarantee them a ten-digit strike rate each season. Chip20 68 Posted August 25, 2012 Did I write ''ten-digit''???Sorry; meant double-digit.Too much vino too late in the evening...
Gingerpele 0 Posted August 25, 2012 I''m actually starting to think Rhodes could be worth the risk. As long as the upfront fee is no more than £4 million, a further million when we stay up, more on apps and goals and a sell on percentage. Think he could fit in pretty well. It would really depend on wether he would make a bit of a noise about wanting to leave, otherwise Huddersfield have no reason to sell.
Muddy funster 0 Posted August 26, 2012 8m is far too much of a gamble for Rhodes in my honest opinion. Yes he can score but I am just concerned about spending that much on him. What would 8m buy us in Europe? Quite a lot potentially!

Surfbird 1 Posted August 26, 2012 There certainly was a big rumour on Rhodes doing the rounds at Carrow Road yesterday. It would be a similar signing we made for Dean Ashton for £3M in 2004/5.Perhaps Chris Martin might go as part of the deal?Maybe Abdellaoue will come too?Exciting week ahead. Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted August 26, 2012 Rhodes scored on his full Scotland debut and twice in the championship already. This suggests he can do the job above league 1 level. we need a Dean ashton type signing to keep us up this season and £6m plus appearances/add ons etc isabout right when you look at what Rodriques went for. We are not talking about a player who can beat 8 men just one that can put away simple chances like the 4 or 5 we missed yesterday
