Baldyboy 1 Posted August 31, 2012 we hadnt signed any of the players we have brought in so far and bought a big money striker or done the business we have? Just asking as so many people seem to think we havent spent any money this window!!
JF 694 Posted August 31, 2012 I''d have rather we had secured a replacement for Vaughan before loaning him out and leaving us short of attacking options.
RvWs 4 year contract 0 Posted August 31, 2012 What JF said.No matter how much the positive Percy brigade try and dress things up, our striker department looks absolutely woeful compared to our 19 other "friends" in the Premiership..

It''s not the actual fees demanded for players, it''s the wage demands. IMO we could spend £4m-£5m on a good striker, but when they demand wages higher than we a prepared to pay, we''re not going to deal.

We haven''t strengthened the forward line - as yet - and this makes me doubtful that we''ll score enough goals to compete away from home which will significantly affect our chances of staying up.
