Syteanric 1 Posted August 31, 2012 and sent Vaughan out on loan you''d all be singing his praises from near and high..."the best manager Norwich have had in a generation...."so why the difference with Hughton?
Google Bot 3,923 Posted August 31, 2012 It''s nothing to do with Hughton, But we need to keep moving and improving our squad. So far we''ve only weakened the forwards.
Bws Cat 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Well he hasn''t, so we don''t have to worry. It''s just the fact that we loaned out a striker and not replaced them when we have this...Holt- Who may or may not score as many as last yearMorison- Who is unsettled by everybody''s comments and the loan moveJackson and Martin- Are they really Prem quality? No Swoop Done 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Snodgrass means we have weakened? Attacking midfielder who I would say will have the same impact Pilkington had with us last season.
Morisons Prozac 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Don''t even understand why you''re mentioning those three, everyone has said that they''re great signings but they''re not enough. Are you telling me that if there are no strikers coming in and we''ve let our best prospect for goals go out on loan that isn''t cause for panic, as well as letting a 9 goal Prem striker out on loan in the championship. Robin Van Persie...Football is a team game.. whats better? 4 strikers grabbing 5 goals a season each or one grabbing 20 and 3 getting 0?perhaps Arsenal will answer that question in a few weeks. ZLF 334 Posted August 31, 2012 CH has done an excellent job of generally strengthening the squad - mcnally said he wanted to improve the squad every transfer window and I know Bassong and garrido HAVE done that and tettey probably has - until i see him i am not sure. - so objective met - excpetwhere we have taken a step back is we as at 9.10pm have 4 strikers, one who failed to spark in the champs for the last 2 years and so we have fewer options than last year. We have therefore not yet improved the striking squad but depleted it, and on top of that our goal threat from the ajax friendly on has been thread bare. For me that would be the same irrespective of the manager (I think anyway!) Branston Pickle 4,144 Posted August 31, 2012 Lambert certainly had faith in Jackson as being ''Prem quality'' - I believe he played 20+ times last season. If we don''t get anyone, I would rather like to see Loza given a go, but we have plenty of options in Snoddy, Wes et al. jed exodous 0 Posted August 31, 2012 The thing is, a certain manager hasn''t signed these players. Our current manager has. Of course, everyones open to an opinion about the players, and only time will tell if they are good signings or bad. Lambert was fortunate, in that we were in a poor league, against poor opposition and he was able to loan a few players early doors and the momentum went from there. From day 1, Hughton''s had the expectation on his shoulders to fill Lamberts boots, and all fans will judging him from the off. Remember, there were plenty of doubters last summer (including me) questioning if the likes of Pilks, Bennett, Johnson, Morrison, Ayala and Vaughan could do the job. Some made it, some haven''t really.
City 2nd 193 Posted August 31, 2012 Sorry but a ridiculous argument - the previous incumbent coached his team in the art of attacking football, usually playing a formation that suited his tactics and team selection. The current manager plays with very different tactics, is defensively minded, and likes to play with a lone striker. Our lack of goals pre season and after two matches speaks volumes! No Swoop Done 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Add Butterfield and we are more attacking that last season. Wilbraham scored one and Vaughan I lost count. It is depleated, not weakened.
Google Bot 3,923 Posted August 31, 2012 Snodgrass, Butterfield, whoever will not be able to attack as freely as they have in the lower leagues if they are continually the focus of our attack, we''ll be sussed out in a matter of weeks and they will be forced to defend. Like we saw at Fulham. We need a poacher with pace, who can cause problems up front, causing their wingbacks to be less keen on pushing on to us.My biggest fear this season is watching us sitting back and Snodgrass etc. being forced to defend, with Holt being used on his own up front, with the option being Moro for a like-for-like sub because Holt''s knackered. Southwestcanary 0 Posted August 31, 2012 We have purchased 8 players for gods sake! Would love to see an extra striker but if not so be it! Trust in McNally! We haven''t lost anyone who made a major contribution last year but added some quality. Onwards and upwards. OTBC
No Swoop Done 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Did we have a poacher the past few seasons? Wally seems to be panicking over what exactly?
Google Bot 3,923 Posted August 31, 2012 Southwestcanary, you say we haven''t lost anyone who made a major contribution - But what if the out of season debacle between Holt, his Agent & the club has some season-long effects on his performance? You guessed it - we''re up a brown creek with wobbly paddles. Scrimmage 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Tettey is an improvement over Crofts.Bassong is an improvement over Whitbread, Barnett, Ward and maybe even Bennett at this moment in time.Garrido is an improvement over Tierney.Butterfield is an improvement over Hoolahan. Hughton''s signings have been just what we''ve needed - improvements. And I trust we''ll get a striker in before the window closes. OTBC.
No Swoop Done 0 Posted September 1, 2012 *Cough* Snodgrass! Re comment last night. Next they''ll be feeding our strikers, same as last year. Confidence is building and more importantly Bassong and Barnett looking good together again considering their second outting together. Scrimmage definitely right about Garrido v Tierney. Hughton too and the players bedding in nicely!
