Splendid Rush 8 Posted August 17, 2012 Hi all.I don''t think many posters here will remember Phil as a player. He was a full back for us before Dave Stringer took his place.Anyway, if anyone does remember him and didn''t know already I''m sorry to report that he died in Norwich this week after being ill for some time.I knew Phil personally and he was a lovely man. Full of warmth and laughter. I haven''t seen him for some time, but he will be greatly missed by those close to him.Phil also played for Wolves and won 5 caps for the Republic of Ireland and was manager of Lowestoft. Robert Parsons 0 Posted August 17, 2012 Phil Kelly was playing in my first ever game as a City supporter. I always thought that he was a great player and also watched him a lot when he played for Lowestoft in the ECL.A cultured player and a real gentleman. Sadly missed and makes me feel old as the fit young players of my childhood start to die.RP

Old Shuck 291 Posted August 17, 2012 Always sad to hear that one of the players from our past has died, too young to remember him but sounds as if he was a bloody good player and pro. RIP Phil.
