I really think we''re going to get beaten badly in our first game of the season.  Fulham have sharpened up and bought in some quality players like Rodallega who''s caused us problems before, whereas on the strength of today''s performance we are one-paced, one-dimensional and lack any kind of cutting edge.  I fear our home form is going to be critical to our survival chances this season as we won''t get much from our away games if this is the system, formation and performance levels we can expect.  We''ll need Carrow Road to be a fortress more than ever.

 

From today''s performance, the players need to wake up (Snodgrass and Howson aside) and the negativity of one up front (home or away) needs to be challenged.  It can work if you have quality on the wings and pushing forward as Swansea proved last season, but without a player like Sigurdsson it''s easy to just end up running round in circles with no cutting edge.

Also,me won our first game last season with one up front, we won other games with one up front. We have Pilks and Snodgrass who are very good attacking players, it''s basically the same as 4-3-3.

If you really think this way, how on earth can you enjoy football? Makes no sense to me, if I was thinking like you I''d just give up and forget about football...

Bored Bore Bor seems more interested in his dry cleaning than watching us play football, judging by his comments on another thread .   He also strikes me as a ringer - or whatever you call them - a made up character - trying to put across a negative image for the sake of it.   Doesn''t make any difference really, but it is just another poster for who the glass is always half empty. Nothing as bad as that. and I didn''t mean "beaten badly" in terms of scoreline alone although I know that''s how you young boys think about the game, only in terms of scoreline.  You must know what it feels like to watch another team pass it better than you, control the game better than you, tackle and want it more than you.  I expect they will have more possession, a higher pass completion rate and yes, more goals.  Three-nil is my prediction and I''ll put my money where my mouth is and wager on it.

We won our first game last season with one upfront? Im guessing you dont mean the draw at Wigan? Do you mean our first game playing with one up top? I cant remember if we had two up top against Wigan. If this is the case, when in the season did we switch to one up top? Oh, and Bore......GROUNDHOG DAY.

We won our first game last season with one upfront? Im guessing you dont mean the draw at Wigan? Do you mean our first game playing with one up top? I meant our first win was with one up top, we played two upfront the first four games (as far as I can remember) and drew or lost them all, played the dreaded 4-5-1 against Bolton and won.

The first day of the season usually throws up a few quirky score lines – and based on today alone, I’d say 3-0 was being conservative! We need to do some incredible work in the next 7 days to have a hope – and as a fan, I sincerely hope we do.

 

Driving home, I just thought ‘fortunately we’re not playing Villa next Saturday''; their manager knows how to fire up his team for the first game of the season – he’s shown us that in grand style before…
